Wages/Benefit: $1,500.00 Stipend paid Bi-monthly. The Alamo Area Council can also work with your
school to provide whatever documentation necessary for intern to receive college credit and/or academic
recognition, if available and offered by your school.
Job Description Intern will receive practical experience in a variety of areas related to marketing and
communications within the local Boy Scouts of America, Alamo Area Council. These areas include but
are not limited to PR, press release creation, media relations, networking, social media marketing
(Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, Google+1), website content management (Scout Tools
platform), SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tools, branding, graphic design (Adobe InDesign
/Photoshop), event marketing, nonprofit management, marketing strategic planning, journalism,
photojournalism (Canon Rebel T3), and video production (Final Cut Pro / iMovies, Sony HD Handycam
HDR-PJ710, GoPro Hero3 mounted on DJI Phantom 2 Quadcopter).
Job duties include attending team meetings, maintaining databases, content creation, story collecting,
storytelling through various media platforms, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements junior/senior year student working towards a Bachelors degree in Marketing/
Communications. Candidate should be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database
management. Candidate must also maintain a professional appearance at all times, be detail oriented, and
be able to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Any experience with iMac OSX, iMovies, Finalcut Pro, Sony Handycam, Canon Rebel T3, Adobe
Photoshop, and InDesign CS6 is preferred but not required.
Reports to Angel Martinez, Communications / Marketing Director with training support from
Development Directors, Courtney Bukowski and Amber Sizer.
