8. Italicize the word many in the phrase: Microsoft Word offers many options
9. Double-click on the Format Painter icon.
10. Highlight the word look in the phrase: changing the way your letters look. Next,
highlight the word default in the phrase: The default font size
11. Click on the Format Painter icon to turn it off.
Using the Font Dialog Box
1. Highlight the words Microsoft Word in your first paragraph.
2. Go the Format menu and select Font.
3. There are three tabs at the top of the dialog box. Make sure the Font tab is selected.
4. Select Arial from the Font list. Select Bold from the Font Style list. Select Green for the
Font Color.
5. Click the Shadow box under Effects. Click OK.
6. Highlight Introduction to Formatting.

Microsoft Word offers many methods for changing the way a document looks. You can do things like change
the style of the letters, change the size, and change the colors and many other formatting options.
Fonts
Fonts are the different options for changing the way your letters look. Some fonts are professional looking. Others
are more artistic or creative.
Size
You can adjust the size of your letters to whatever you choose. Font sizes are measured in points. The default font
size in Microsoft Word is 12 point.
