7 Control panel must ensure the operation of the system according the requirements stated
in points 2.13 2.17. Main power supply of the panel should be 220V, 50 Hz. All other
voltage levels needed for the operation must be provided by the panel itself.
In case of the loss of the main power supply, transfer to the backup power supply must be
automatic
Information exchange between control panel and main control room must be provided via 2
independent MODBUS RTU channels
2.9 List of MODBUS signals from the panel to the main control room:
Pressure in the manifold
Gas released for each area
Evacuation signalization operational for each area
General fault detail explanation must be visible on the panel
Local extinguishing mode, remote extinguishing mode,
Extinguishing activated locally for each area
Emergency extinguishing, distribution valve open - for each area
Local abort for each area
2.10 List of MODBUS signals from the main control room to the panel:
Extinguishing allowed (areas closed) for each area
Extinguishing activation for each area
Switch to automatic mode for each area
Position of doors and ventilation of protected areas
2.11 Control panel must have the device which allows its total shutdown (including the
battery power supply) upon receipt of external emergency voltage-free signal, commutation
capacity no more than 0,2A, 24V.
2.12 Modes of activation:
Automatic (via signal from the main control room)
Remote (via signal from the main control room)
Local (from the control panel)
Emergency (manual opening of valves and CO2 bottles)
2.13 Sequence for the automatic mode of activation (via signal from the main control room)
A) Automatic/remote extinguishing mode should be chosen for each area
B) Upon receipt of the signal Automatic/remote extinguishing mode activated from the
main control room, control panel should activate the appropriate signalization (loop
modules) and sends the signal "Automatic mode activated"-signalization operational to
the main control room
C) Upon receipt of the signal Remote activation from main control room control panel
activates the algorithm described in 2.15.B)
D) Further sequence is like described in 2.14.C) 2.14.E)
2.14 Sequence for the remote mode of activation (via signal from the main control room)
A) Automatic/remote extinguishing mode should be chosen for each area. Upon receipt of
the signal Automatic/remote extinguishing mode activated from the main control room,
control panel should activate the appropriate signalization (loop modules) and sends the
signal "Automatic mode activated"-signalization operational to the main control room.

B) Upon receipt of the signal Remote activation from main control room control panel
activates the algorithm described in 2.15.B)
C) Main control room takes care of emergency ventilation shutdown in the designated area
and upon confirmation sends the signal Extinguishing activation allowed to the control
panel.
D) After expiry of evacuation time delay, control panel reacts according the algorithm
described in 2.15.C) 2.15.D)
E) During the evacuation time delay there is a possibility to abort the extinguishing
procedure. Upon the receipt of signal Remote abort from main control room control
panel resets the extinguishing process.
2.15 Sequence for the local mode of activation from the control panel
A) Local extinguishing mode should be chosen on the control panel for each area separately.
Signal Local extinguishing activation mode is sent to the main control room. The
extinguishing sequence is activated by pushing the button on the control panel
B) Control panel activates the alarm signalization in the protected area, and evacuation time
delay is activated.
C) After the evacuation time delay expires, control panel activates the valve actuators for the
designated area.
D) After received inputs from the pressure switches, the control panel relays this information
to the main control room via signals Pressure in manifold and Gas release to Area
2.16 Sequence for emergency (manual) activation
A) The system must allow manual release of gas to every protected area.
B) Upon opening of the distribution valve, control panel activates the alarm signalization for
the designated space (loop modules) and sends the following signals to the main control
room:
Emergency extinguishing, distribution valve open
"GAS! EVACUATE!" - Signalization operational
C) Evacuation time delay must be provided by mechanical means
D) After received inputs from the pressure switches, the control panel relays this information
to the main control room via signals Pressure in manifold and Gas release to Area
2.17 All modes of activation must insure that the first valve to be opened is the distribution
valve. Only then can the gas be released.
2.19 Control panel must send the signal Control panel general fault condition to the main
control room upon appearance of the following faults:
Communication fault betweens modules, loop elements
Line monitoring fault to the solenoid valves and pressure sensors
Short circuit or break fault to the sensors and pushbuttons
Main power supply fault
2.20 All events must be collected to the flesh memory of the control panel and displayed on
the user interface when required. Each event must be identified with event type, date and time
of appearance.
2.21 Control panel must provide the way of aborting the extinguishing sequence. The signal
Local abort, or Remote abort from main control room is sent to the main control room
