LOVE
o A marriage intended to serve a

their love for each other.

o An exclusive relationship
involving one man and one
woman only. No bigamy, no
polygamy, no extra relationship
o A permanent relationship, a
lifetime commitment, a secure

Social scientists reveal that most
dysfunctional youth including
street children, juvenile,
prostitutes, substance abusers,
youth offenders and criminals
are products of broken homes.

o We need to strengthen the
family if we need to eradicate
these problems. We can start by
having a right perception of the
Sanctity of Marriage.
Marriage as God
Intended
Genesis 2:18-22
TheLORDGod said, It is not good for
the man to be alone. I will make a helper
suitable for him.
19Now theLORDGod had formed out of the
ground all the wild animalsand all the
birds in the sky.He brought them to the
man to see what he would name them;
and whatever the man calledeach living
creature,that was its name.20So the
man gave names to all the livestock, the
birds in the sky and all the wild animals.

Therefore, sanctity of marriage means
a sacred union of a husband and wife
for the purpose of establishing
a family.
Bond Between Man and

Woman
o They become ONE
o In love, they absorb the best
from each other
o In strife, they absorb the worst
o This bond is so strong that
marriage covenant is meant to
be enjoyable, lasting and
permanent.

Woman
o It is unique in a sense that the
husband can enjoy his wifes
body, soul and spirit as no other
man can and the wife can enjoy
her
husbands body, soul and spirit
as no other woman can.

Woman
o The Bible tells that when God
instituted marriage, His objective
was for ONENESS, which means
that the husband and wife will
function as a UNIT. And they can
only function as a unit unless the
leaving of parents and cleaving to
one another takes place.
For this reason a MAN will leave

his father and mother and be
UNITED to his wife, and they will
become one flesh.
Genesis 2:24
o God being the author of marriage
said, So then, they are no longer
two but one. Therefore, what God
has joined
together, let no Council

SEX
o Is wonderful and beautiful. God

invented it. But God designed
sex for the beauty of the
marriage relationship and
nothing else. And for somebody
who thinks that he or she can
cheat God to take the pleasure
of sex apart of marriage, God
avenges immorality.

o In Gods mind, the real purpose

of marriage is ONENESS, which
blesses and strengthens both
partners. But what happens to
people who have bonded
together with many people
through fornication or adultery?
In the mathematics of Marriage: 1

In the mathematics of Fornication:

In the mathematics of Adultery: 1

SEX
o If a woman has sexual
relationships with several men,
her spirit and soul seek everyone
of them. Her spirit is scattered
and torn apart. On the other
hand, a mans spirit is built to
find, protect, bless, nurture and
provide for that woman.

o Social Effects loss of honor

and public disgrace; immorality
is not a private affair.
o A public servant cannot
separate his or her private life
from his or her public life.
o Ones public world is just an
extension of the private world.
If one is corrupt in private, then
he or she is also

o Physical Consequences physical
abuse, venereal disease or even
death
o Emotional Effects guilt and
bothered conscience
Is there HOPE for those

whose lives are shattered
because of sexual
immorality?

No amount of success in business or in

our workplace will compensate for our
failure in the home.
When marriage turns miserable,

separation is not the answer.
Instead, we need to work to
make the marriage better
because God is not
glorified when husband and
wife separates.
The point of marriage as an institution

maybe more important than all the
benefits. Both the mates may either
get or not get from it. Successful
marriages do not just happen.
It is the result of what mates are
willing to put into the relationship, call
it the
ingredients of successful marriage,
namely:
o Love
o Understanding
o Respect
o Fidelity
o Integrity
o Trust
o Communication
o Passion
o Sacrifice
When the loving gets

tough, the tough gets
loving.
