Fakers Zed is running down the mid lane towards his base, with only a sliver

of his HP left and the entire team CPG chasing after him! Will he be able to
escape after that clutch play by Kings Thresh?
I think he can DoA, CPG are not close enough to finish him, and SKT are all
running to help him. Unless we see an unexpected play from CPG like whats just
happened, I think Fakers gonna be just fine. Monte replies calmly but then gets
a bit more excited. However, this does open up the possibility of a Baron for
CPG. If they do this right, I think they should have the necessary advantage to
close out this incredibly close game.
Chosen is of the same opinion. He calculates all the possibilities of killing Faker,
and none seems favourable. At this late moment in the game, a slight mistake
can mean everything. Faker has committed that mistake, and its up to CPG to
take advantage of it fully. Stop chasing him! We cant finish him off without
taking a significant amount of return damage from SKT. Lets go towards Baron!
OK! reply Golem, Phantom and King in unison, and they all start turning back
towards Baron at the same time. We can win this! After everything that has
happened, it seems almost unreal that they have come this close towards
finishing the first half of what others qualified to be an impossible dream.
But then the unthinkable happens. People do say that the closer you are to the
finish line, the more likely things are to go wrong. In a moment of
overconfidence, Joker makes an incredible move, seemingly oblivious to the
teams decision. Jokers Lucian flashes then dashes using his E towards Faker and
get Faker into his autoattack range.
If this had been any other team, Joker would have probably been able to get
away with this incredibly aggressive play. But this is SKT K, the force that
terrorized everyone during late season 3, early season 4, the only team in history
to have won 3 major championships in a row, 2 OGN and the season 3 World
Championship itself, and one perfectly. Although they have been slumping lately,
at this critical juncture of their career, the Korean Season 4 World Championship
Qualifier, they have reawakened to bring back a 2-0 game to a 2-2 game, like
they did during the finals of OGN Summer 2013. And this is it, the game that will
decide everything, and they will not let it go. Like CPG, they too have their own
purpose. The incredibly well-oiled machine that is the teamwork of SKT sets itself
ablaze. Monte and DoA barely have enough time to open their mouths to
comment on Jokers aggressiveness and what about to transpire leave them and
everyone else speechless. As if seeing the future, Impacts Gragas flashes right
at the moment Joker flashes and throws his ult right at the spot between Joker
and his team, separating them. Then Faker ults Joker just right in time to avoid
Jokers Lightslinger, and he flies with Joker towards the rest of the SKT team.
Poohs Nami gets into range, immediately uses his Mikeal to heal Faker, and
lands his Aqua Prison right at Jokers and Fakers landing spot.
No. Chosen thinks simply. Retreat! he yells. Retreat! But King flashes forward,
intent on saving Joker using his lantern. But Impact saw it. He saw it and used E
towards King pre-emptively, stunning him enough so that he will not be able to
use his lantern in time. But even if it had not happened, this effort would have
still been fruitless. Jokers health bar is reduced to 0 in less than a second,
shredded by Faker and Piglets KogMaw, unable to do anything as he floats in

Poohs Aqua Prison. Impacts E does however cut any possibility of Kings being
able to escape after his futile and probably foolish attempt, as it allows Bengis
Lee to land his Q easily. The Thresh with barely any item is reduced to a quarter
his health after a full combo of Gragas basic abilities and quickly finished off by
Lees combo. Poohs Tidal Wave comes straight towards the rest of CPG, still
stunned after seeing the monumental mistakes that their teammates have just
committed. Phantoms Nocturne and Golems Jax barely got away, but Chosens
Ziggs was helpless, and SKT were aiming him from the beginning. They storm
towards Chosen, and the table has suddenly turned against CPG.
All hell broke loose in Busan stadium. The spectators simply cannot hold back
their excitement. SKT chants become so loud that they even block out the
attempt made by the commentators to comment on what they qualify as the
play of the tournament, perhaps the entire season. DoA stands up, leans forward
and yells on the top of his lung, DID THAT JUST HAPPEN? DID THAT JUST REALLY
HAPPEN?. Monte himself cannot keep his calm, trying to describe what occurred
and to explain the degree of teamwork that a team needs to have to be able to
make such a play flawlessly. Everything was done right! And in a synch that
simply astounded me! Everyone knew what to do, and they did so as if they
could well see in the future that this would be the result. The aggressive move
made by Joker was not the mistake. If this had been any other team CPG would
have been able to finish Faker without a thought, and we would have been
cheering Joker here and not Impact and the rest of SKT. The mistake that Joker
committed, that we all committed, was thinking that SKT were any other team.
They werent!
But in the booths, both SKTs and CPGs, everything was quiet. SKTs entire play
has been done without a single word exchanged between the members. And now
they know they have won. Both teams have only one nexus turret left each and
there is a huge wave with super minion down in bot lane coming towards CPGs
base. They are chasing Chosen down the mid lane, and in a moment their
cooldowns should reset to allow them to catch and finish him. And when Chosen
is gone, they will win the game. They probably can stop chasing Chosen and win
the game now, but theres simply no way that chasing Chosen can change
anything. The death timer is long, King and Joker will be out of action for almost
a minute, and Chosen will be dead in seconds.
Chosens mind has stopped working. He cant see the possibilities anymore. He
cant calculate like he usually does. Now hes just running down the mid lane,
controlled simply by an instinct to flee, even though his mind knows that in
seconds Bengis Q will be ready, and he will be dead. There is no way around it.
With only Phantom and Golem left and only 1 Nexus turret, there is no way to
divert the inevitable. Its done, finished, gone, dead, however you want to call it.
They have come so close, so close, and that one single mistake has costed them
their dreams. Next to him, Joker is crying, realizing what he has done, and King
just sits there besides his broken brother, hands off keyboard, completely
stunned. All the efforts they have put in, all have faded into oblivion. The sweats,
the tears, the blood resulted from their internal conflicts, all have been for
naught.
Youre crying again, Nam-Seon.

D..dad?
Chosen looks around him. Hes not in the booth anymore. Hes in the park, where
he has always been. And then his father is gone, again, without saying a word,
without saying goodbye. Hes again surrounded by them. Jung is there, laughing
as always at him. Youre crying again Kim. You have always been crying, like you
should. You really thought you could surpass us with this? No Kim, you have
always been a failure. Youre not good enough. Know your place and get the fuck
outta here!
NO! YOU GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE! Chosen pounced forward, grabbing at
Jungs collar, eyes filled with rage. But it isnt Jung. The park has disappeared,
now hes in the hospital, on his sisters bed. Hes grabbing his sisters collar.
Shes crying. He released his grab, and staggered backwards. SsorryI, I
didnt mean to. But she has stopped crying, and the expression on her face was
instead one of intense anger, which he has never seen in his entire life. Youre
giving up arent you, brother? Like you have always done. This is why you have
never achieved anything in your life. You have always come so close but then
you get scared away the moment something unexpected happens. You will also
give up on me as well, wont you? When the moment comes you will give up on
me as well brother.
No, no. Id never But she was already gone, disappeared from his life. No,
Sun-mi. He collapses, and breaks down. No, I I dont know what to do now
Its not possible Theres no way
Is there really no way, Kim? Really? Mr. Park appears before him. Look to your
left, Kim. You dont always have to fight by yourself. And then he too is gone.
Chosen looks to his left. And there they are, Phantom and Golem, and they are
still fighting. Hes back in the booths. Get a hold of yourself, Nam-Seon! Its not
over yet! Its not over until the nexus is destroyed! Golem yells. Phantom as
always, calm and quiet, even when his own dream is about to be broken. But the
light in his eyes has not been extinguished, if anything its burning even brighter
than before. Even though his illusion seemed eternal, barely a second has
actually passed, Chosen is still alive. The small figure of Ziggs is still running
down the mid lane, with the SKT horde following behind, ready for blood. Theres
actually a way?
My ultimate is up. Phantom says simply.
And then something clicks inside Chosens mind.
Dont use it! He yells on the top of his lung.
What is this? He flashed forward? For no reason at all? Hes still within SKTs
reach? And he put a pink ward down? Inside the bush in SKTs jungle? Hes
running towards the Baron now. Why did he just flash? Was it desperation? And
why did Phantom not use his ultimate. If he had maybe Chosen could have
gotten away? DoA said excitedly. He put down his mine field. But Nami used
the Talisman. Did he think he would get help from Phantom and get away? Bengi
landed his Q! And he kicked Chosen towards his team. Oh my god he was
completely annihilated! And now they are so near Baron! Should they just take it,
Monte? The death timer is over 50 seconds!

But Monte looks at the ward Chosen has just put down, incredulous. DoA, do
you think SKT saw the ward being put down there? He asks, looking worried.
Did SKT see the ward being put down? He asks again, in a louder voice.
I dont know? It doesnt seem like they did. DoA replied, puzzled by Montes
agitation. And now they are going straight for Baron. Oh its going down so fast.
This is it. This is the end. SKT will be the third Korean team going to World!
Oh my god Monte is perhaps the only one who notices it. The camera is
focusing on the SKT team going for Baron, and not on that tiny little ward that
Chosen put down when he flashed. The moment Chosen put down the ward,
Golem instinctively understood what he needed to do. He sold his current boot
and bought a homeguard boot immediately. He also sold his Banshees Veil, and
replaced it with a Youmuus. The moment SKT leaves the area going towards
Baron, he immediately teleports onto the ward. And when hes arrived, he guns
toward SKTs mid inhibitor at gods speed. Phantoms Nocturne who was
desperately trying to hold off the superminion wave at bot has also slid away
without anyone noticing. However, Faker is still in SKTs base, ready for any
backdooring attempt from CPG.
But just before Faker could see the god of death coming straight towards him,
Nocturnes ultimate is used. The darkness comes down and Nocturnes voice
sends a shiver down Fakers spine. Out of that veil of darkness, Golems Jax
jumps out apparently from nowhere, his stun ready. Fakers reflex might be the
best in the world, but the element of surprise has got the better of him. Golem
sees what he needs to do, and he will not let Faker get away. He lands his stun
right at the moment Jax comes into contact with Zed, and starts pounding on
Zed right away. Faker shadows away immediately at the moment the stun is off,
but Golem knew. Jax flashes forward at the same time and immediately uses his
blade and Randuins actives at the same time, slowing Faker to a crawl. Faker
without ultimate is helpless before this late game monster that is Jax, and the
baron buff that his team has just obtained cannot give him the edge necessary.
Come back! Someone come back! He shouts at the top of his lung, and his Zed
died, unable to do a significant damage to Golems Jax. Jax is now pounding on
the mid inhibitor. The sound of Jaxs autoattacks echo in SKTs members ears,
seemingly more horrifying than anything they have ever heard. But Fakers
shouts are in vain. Right after the Baron was finished and before Faker was killed,
they had already started to back. But a ward had been suddenly put down inside
the Baron pit, and Nocturne had immediately come out from the darkness
towards Bengi, used his E on Impact who was just next to Bengi, then landed his
Q on Piglet and Poohmandu right away, effectively cancelling all their Bs. STK K
had been so surprised they had not reacted fast enough. How did he get here so
fast? Wasnt he just at bot just now? How is he running so fast? They all
yelled one after another. They did not see it, and since the camera was focusing
on the duel between Golem and Faker, it was doubtful that anyone actually
notice the figure of Nocturne going at lightning speed from his base towards the
baron pit, leaving the superminion wave pounding on CPGs bot inhibitor.
Oh my god! All their teleports were cancelled! Phantom did it! He came out from
nowhere! And oh my god did he just dodge every single skillshot SKT landed
towards him? They are trying to kill him but hes delaying them as much as he

can! SKTs mid inhibitor is down! And Golems going straight towards the
remaining nexus turret. Hes turned on his Youmuu. Hes gonna tank it. Oh my
god its going down so fast. Can he do it? Can CPG do it? DoA feels his voice
almost breaking after so much shouting, but he cannot stop. They actually
might be able to do it DoA! But look at this, CPGs bot inhibitor has also been
destroyed by the superminion wave. If SKT can get back in time, they will not
only be able to save their nexus but to win immediately as well. But they have to
do it now! It will not take Jax more than a dozen seconds to finish this off!
Montes excitement has also reached its peak. CPGs fans, revitalized, starts
chanting CPG again. The excitement saturates the air, ready to explode again at
any moment. Everyone understands that this is it, the moment that will mark
CPGs presence in the history of League of Legends, perhaps of e-sport itself.
SKT do not know what to do. Do they have enough time to back now? Should
they try to move away a bit then back or should they back right here and there
and risk teleport being cancelled again? BACK! BACK RIGHT HERE! ILL KILL
HIM! Piglet shouts at his teammates. Without barely any defensive item, Piglets
KogMaw shreds Nocturnes health, and Nocturne is now almost dead. Hes
running towards the back of the Baron pit now, theres simply no way that he can
cancel their teleports again. Just one more auto attack
But Phantom flashes into the Baron pit again, and uses his Twin Shadow to
cancel Bengi and Pooh teleports.
TWIN SHADOWS??? SINCE WHEN DID HE HAVE TWIN SHADOWS? And its only
now that Pooh and others check Phantoms current item. He had sold almost all
of his item to buy movement speed items, including Twin Shadows, which had
been the reason why he could have reached the baron pit so fast from CPGs
base. SKTs remaining nexus tower is down, only Impact was able to back in
time. BACK! THIS FUCKER! BACK! Piglet finishes off Phantom and he backs
immediately with Bengi and Pooh, but they already know. The sound of Jaxs
autoattacks doesnt stop. Impact tries as hard as he can but it doesnt stop. Its
too late. The damage that Gragas can deal on Jax now is not enough. Jaxs health
is going down but as fast as the nexuss health. It was enough to dodge the
initial stun from Gragas which Golem did beautifully using his Q and a ward, and
everything after that is history. The SKT players look on at the scene of their
nexus being destroyed, of their dream being destroyed stunned, unable to do
anything. The sound doesnt stop. The remaining champions are trying to back,
but they wont be able to make it in time. The figure of Poolside Party Lee Sin
lying on his chair, a drink on his hand seems awfully ironic. SKTs super minions
are also trying hard to destroy CPGs nexus themselves, but the sound does not
stop. Even as the SKTs nexus explodes, the sound still echoes in everyones ear.
Both Jaxs and CPGs nexus health are in the red.
If the cheers for SKT for the play a bit more than minute ago were the sound of a
simple bomb, then the explosion that followed after the destruction of SKTs
nexus was that of a warhead. The stadium erupted. Almost everyone was yelling
at a volume beyond what should be humanly capable, chanting CPG! CPG!
CPG!, so much that the entire stadium trembles and the shouts can be heard
even from afar, waking up the tired people who are coming back late from work
nearby. The more the stadium trembles, the more the audience is pushed to a
frenzy that threatens not to stop. Social media sites, inven, reddit are flooded

with comments of amazement, disbelief and cheers for the unlikely team who
has done something no other team has yet ever done in the history of
professional League of Legends.
Oh can you hear it, Monte? Can you hear it? I can hear it DoA. I can hear it.
One has to be pretty deaf not to hear it. But at this rate we are really going to be
deaf soon. Yes Monte. I dont think we have ever heard this much cheering for
a winner of a tournament like this one. And they deserve it too. Yes DoA, this is
a team that 3 months ago did not exist. I know I have said this again and again
every time CPG plays, but I can simply not stop being amazed by this very, very
young team, in all sense of the word. Here you have a team of 5 extremely
talented players, but only one of them is a veteran, the remaining 4 are
extremely young and barely able to satisfy the age requirement for World. And
they have climbed, from the very bottom, to the point where they are now the
third representative of the Korean Region to the Season 4 World Championship. If
there is a Cinderella story to the League of Legends scene, this is almost it.
Yes, the question is now whether they can reach the highest point and become
the season 4 World Champion. You know what Monte, I really think they have a
legitimate chance here. I think so too DoA. As the third Korean seed, of course
theyll have a legitimate chance at becoming the World Champion, there is no
doubt about that. However, the question is, can they beat the remaining two
seeds, the two Samsung teams, Blue and White. They were beaten pretty badly
by Blue in the summer finals, but I think it was probably because of an internal
problem. They did not perform as well as they had been performing, and I think
Blue recognized that as well, given Dades comment in his interview. And they
have yet to meet White, at least in public. So it remains unclear whether they will
able to best the other 2 seeds if they play at their best. I am a little worried
however, because it seems that the team has yet to completely gel together. The
flash dash by Joker in game 5 aside, there are moments when I feel like CPG are
actually 2 teams instead of 1, with Joker and King playing separately from the
rest of team. Perhaps its just my imagination though. No, Monte, I get that
feeling sometimes as well, I completely understand what youre talking about. It
usually happens in the games that they lose. In games that they win as well
DoA. I dont know, but it seems that King will do anything, even if it means
detriment to the team itself, to save Joker, like that flash we saw King . Chosen,
Phantom and King are usually so good however they can salvage these kinds of
mistake, but
