I. OBJECTIVE:
Complex Impedance are often connected in parallel. The purpose of this experiment is to become
familiar with the calculation of the impedance of such a circuit.
II. THEORY SECTION

III. METHOD OF EXPERIMENT

A. Experimental Set-up

A. OUTLINE OF EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE

a. Measure and record in the given Table 11 the resistance of the inductor coil RC.
b. Connect the circuit as shown in the figure.
c. Adjust the Variac for rms value of 10V at the position indicated as E in the diagram.
d. Measure and record the total current IT.
e. Determine the magnitude of the impedance Z = E/I.
f. Using the oscilloscope, measure and record the impedance angle .
g. Compute the magnitude of the total impedance Z and the impedance angle at 60
cps. Omit the 47-ohm resistor from the calculations.

Analysis
Experiment no. 11
We make sure that our gathered data were valid by following each
procedure, applying what we have learn about impedances of inductors and
reactance in the lecture class, and before using the equipment we calibrated them
to have an exact and correct value of every components and elements in the
circuit.
We minimized our errors with careful analysis of the test conditions and
procedure: by observing the proper ways of conducting an experiment such as
checking the functionality or condition of each equipment, following experimental
procedures carefully, being familiar with the use of laboratory equipment and by
being careful in performing the experiment will reduce the error; and we make sure
that the equations we are using to process data are correct; which is in this

We manage to finished the experiment without

difficulty because the procedure in the experiment is somewhat similar to the

previous experiments that is why we know what to avoid and what to improve.
