Learning goals
First you create a new work piece and a new measuring program. If an
adequate PCLS is already available, you may use it.
Align the work piece according to the attached drawing.
First, measure all geometrical elements with nominal value input that
are used as reference elements (A-E). You may also use pre-probing
for these measurements.

Probing mode "Pecking" can only be used with WPC 2040 controller.
Closed curves
First the slot is measured as a closed curve.

1. Start point
2. Direction point
The pre-probing is terminated after the second point with closed curves.

Open curves
Now we program an open curve. In this case, three pre-probing points are
used to determine the curve.

For the measurement of the curve across the angular slot, an extract line
is constructed as reference and onto this a perpendicular plane through
circle 3.
122_Curve_without_CAD_R7.doc
Measure the curve in the theoretical distance of 16mm from the perpendicular plane.

Export elements
The measured elements are now exported into different formats.
Subsequently the exported curves are re-imported as nominal curves in
order to measure more curves (for comparison purposes). The exported
curves can also be used in a CAD system for reengineering.

Measure on imported
elements
One can now measure again on the imported CAD data. For example, a
master work piece is measured and then compared with its profiles in series.
122_Curve_without_CAD_R7.doc
Re-measure the curve with different settings. You can also combine several curves.

Evaluation
Now create the features according to the drawing for the measured elements.
The coordinate system had been created with the elements A-B-C. Thus
XYZ can be selected as basis.
122_Curve_without_CAD_R7.doc
Line profile 0.5 ADE unilateral Depending on if the reference elements had been measured with nominal
value input or with pre-probing, they can either be used or not.
As another solution, one can subsequently create a work piece coordinate
system out of elements without reference. With this, evaluation is done on
the basis of XYZ.
Distance 20
For this distance, we first construct two extract circles out of the closed
curve.
12.1 (2x)
It should be noted that the offset is negative, since the line profile in the
material is shifted inward.
More tips and explanations about the line profile and tolerance zones
are available in the QUARTIS help.
