b. Discuss appropriate emails and why it is important to
be professional when sending an email. Have them
google email etiquette.

Introduction to Excel

1. Introduce students to the variety of ribbons,


ribbon tabs, toolbars, menus and shortcuts
available in Microsoft Excel.
2. Become familiar with the parts of the Excel
window such as: worksheet and grid, cells, cell
address, name box, formula bar, row and column
headers, workbook name and worksheet
navigator.
3. Create Exercise worksheet together while
reviewing the following functions
a. Widen columns
b. Merging cells
c. Editing text/deleting text

information and create a spreadsheet that will allow them to create a
graph of their choice to show the data
5. If students finish early they can create the Halloween Excel Mystery
Picture
6. Students will log into www.coolmath-games.com/lemonade or
www.omsi.edu/exhibits/moneyville/activites/lemonade/lemonadestand.htm
and play the game
7. They will gather data for 30 days and enter it in the Lemonade
spreadsheet located on M: drive
8. Students will follow directions and create a chart
9. Students will print assignment on one page.
10. This assignment will take about 2-2 days to complete
11. This is the Excel final
12. Use 3rd day as a make-up day and to organize folders
