I saw her read it. Finally, she stuck to the script and delivered it well.
Good job at keeping her focused, James, or prepping her. Whatever you did, it worked, and you could
hear the hush of humiliation fall over the Marsh-Mellos when Dawn's $130k was mentioned, Lenz's
shadyness, and Carol's HCDO ties.
Is this letter being sent to The Reporter or 411? It would be nice to get it out to the public because all

Occhipin2% in% the% Special% Elec2on% for% 4th% Ward% City% Council.% % In% fact% the
sponsors%of%the%ordinance%stated%this%themselves%in%this%weeks%Hoboken
Reporter.%
First%and%foremost%I%am%glad%to%have%supported%Tim%in%his%race%because%he
is%a%bright%new%leader%who%is%commiYed%to%moving%our%city%forward.%%His
opponent,% Michael% Lenz,% stated% on% the% record% numerous% 2mes% that% City
Council%members%are%not%elected%to%cut%taxes.%%Also,%Mr.%Lenz%was%a%dual
public%job%holder%who%opted%out%of%the%medical%benets%plan%oered%by
his%full2me%employer%so%he%could%pocket%a%$4,500%bonus%and%then%bill%our
city% over% $23,000% for% medical% benets% from% his% part% 2me% City% Council
posi2on.% % His% philosophy% and% ac2ons% didnt% just% increase% taxes% for% the
people%of%the%4th%Ward,%they%increase%taxes%for%my%cons2tuents%in%the%2nd
Ward% money% and% all% the% people% of% Hoboken.% % I% stand% by% my% decision% to
have%contribute%the%maximun%amount%of%money%against%him%that%is%legally
permissable%and%I%would%gladly%do%it%again.%
Sadly%this%ordinance%is%just%one%of%the%many%ac2ons%some%of%the%members
of%this%council%and%their%allies%have%take%to%try%and%personally%aYack%me.%%I
guess% when% depic2ng% Tim% Occhipin2% and% me% as% Nazis% didnt% get% the% job
done%this%was%the%next%plan%of%aYack.%
It%is%also%extremely%hypocri2cal%because%members%of%this%City%Council%did
the%same%exact%thing%during%their%past%campaigns.%%I%am%being%aYacked%for
giving%$13,000%to%Tims%campaign% when% Mayor% Zimmer% contributed% over
$130,000% of% her% own% money% to% Council% members% Marsh,% Bhalla,% and
Mello% during% their% Council.at.Large% campaigns.% % That% was% not% illegal% and
was% the% Mayors% preroga2ve% to% do% so% with% her% own% money,% but% it
underscores%the%hypocrisy%of%this%ordinance.
In% 2007% Councilwoman% Marsh% had% her% campaign% for% State% Assembly
largely%nanced%by%the%Hudson%County%Democra2c%Organiza2on%and%later
served% as% Vice% Chairwoman% of% the% HCDO.% % During% her% campaign% and

tenure% as% Vice% Chairwoman% former% Governor% Corzine% contributed

hundreds% of% thousands% of% dollars% of% his% own% money% to% the% organiza2on
and%not%once%did%Councilwoman%Marsh%ever%raise%any%concerns%about%this
because% it% was% advantageous% to% her% poli2cally% and% advantagous% to% her
poli2cal%allies.%
This% so% called% an2% wheeling% legisla2on% also% only% limits% campaign
contribu2ons% from% poli2cal% ac2on% commiYees% (PACs)% located% outside% of
Hoboken,% but% does% not% limit% campaign% contribu2ons% from% candidate
commiYees% located% outside% of% Hoboken.% % In% the% past% Mayor% Zimmers
campaign%has%taken%money%from%candidate%commiYees%located%in%Jersey
City,% including% a% campaign% that% was% later% revealed% to% have% received
thousands% of% dollars% from% the% same% government% informant% that% Peter
Cammaranos% campaign% did.% % However,% nothing% in% this% an2% wheeling
ordinance%prevents%this%from%happening%again.%%%
Clearly%this%ordinance%is%being%put%forth%because%the%Mayor%and%the
members%of%this%City%Council%who%support%her%disagree%with%me%and%my
decision%not%to%support%Michael%Lenzs%campaign.%%%%Have%you%no%shame
and%are%the%no%depths%you%will%not%sink%to%in%order%to%increase%your%own
poli2cal%power?%
