Chicken Little Booklet Year 7- Machine Skills & Materials

Chicken Little
In this unit of work you will develop your
practical and design skills. The aim of the
project is to develop your knowledge and
understanding of the sewing machine and
Materials. You will demonstrate safe use of the
sewing machine and produce a chicken
beanbag toy. You will research into a variety of
fabrics
and
demonstrate
a
greater
understanding of fabric properties.

Assessment Objectives

In this project you will be assessed on how well

you can:
o Use the Sewing Machine safely and
correctly.
o Research a variety of Materials.
o Extend
your
knowledge
of
textile
production.

Parts of the sewing machine

THREAD HOLDER

This is where you put the thread when winding the spool and when
stitching.

HAND WHEEL

This has direct contact with the needle. You must always turn the HAND
