SPEAKERS
Sara Erskine - Partner, Rueter Scargall Bennett LLP: Sara is a partner at Rueter Scargall Bennett LLP. Her
advocacy practice is focused on commercial disputes, securities law, labour and employment law,
administrative law, constitutional law and class action litigation. Sara has appeared as counsel before all
levels of court in Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada. She also regularly represents clients before
regulatory tribunals including the Ontario Securities Commission, Investment Industry Regulatory
Organization of Canada (IIROC) and a broad range of professional disciplinary tribunals. Sara publishes
papers in the area of securities law and class action litigation. She is frequently invited to speak at legal
conferences. In addition, Sara routinely presents to industry associations on managing the business risks
associated with civil and employment disputes, and securities regulation.
Thomas W. Arndt - Dickinson Wright: Thomas Arndts practice is focused on the full range of commercial
litigation including complex cases. He acts in lawsuits at all levels of court, as well as in Mediation and
Arbitration. He gained extensive corporate/commercial and securities law experience as corporate counsel
to a multi-billion dollar publicly traded corporation. He was lead counsel in successful enterprise risk
litigation between that corporation and the Province of Ontario.
Omar Ha-Redeye - Fleet Street Law: Omar Ha-Redeye is a Toronto lawyer focusing on health law (personal
injury, medical malpractice, occupational health and safety, health policy) and reputation management
(online defamation, crisis communications, public relations). His oce is based out of Fleet Street Law, a
legal incubator in Toronto, at 20 Carlton Street. He teaches law and ethics at Ryerson University and is an
instructor at Centennial College and Seneca College.

including Ontario law students completing a recognized program through their law school. Omar is active
in the local bar, and is the immediate past Co-Chair of the Young Lawyers Division (Toronto) of the Ontario
Bar Association (OBA). He has sat on the Board of Directors and is a Council Member for the OBA. In 2011
he was named one of the top 12 social media influencers practicing law in Canada. He was presented the
Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013 by the Governor General for his contributions to society and professional
achievements. Omar is a regular blogger with legal websites such as Slaw, and is frequently contacted by
the media. He is repeatedly invited to judge legal competitions for law students across North America.City.
Trudy Goldenberg - Director of Communications and Business Development, AUM Law: Trudy is a senior
professional communicator and business strategist with significant international consulting and legal
industry experience. Her particular strengths are in business development, thought leadership, reputation
management, marketing communications, writing, editing and project management.

SPEAKERS
Maureen Salama - Associate, Brauti Thorning Zibarras: Maureen Salama is an associate at Brauti Thorning
Zibarras LLP who practices primarily in the areas of criminal, regulatory law and professional discipline.
Maureen has successfully represented clients before various courts and tribunals across the province of
Ontario. Her practice has included both routine criminal matters and complex cases. Maureen articled at
Brauti Thorning Zibarras LLP and primarily assisted Mr. Brauti in relation to his criminal and regulatory
practice before returning to the firm as counsel. Since then, she has had the opportunity to get involved in
one of Canadas largest and most complex police prosecutions as counsel. Upon returning to the firm,
Maureen was also appointed as the head of the firms Student Committee. In addition to participating in
the hiring of both summer and articling students, Maureen is often asked to mentor new lawyers and law
students at the firm and participate in resume or interview workshops oered by various laws schools. In
addition, Maureen has been an instructor with the trial advocacy program at the University of Toronto
since 2010.
Edward Prutschi - Adler Bytensky Prutschi Shikhman: Edward Prutschi received his B.A. in Political Science
(International Relations) from York University and his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. At Osgoode, Mr.
Prutschi participated in the Intensive Program in Criminal Law, clerking for Mr. Justice Victor Paisley of the
Superior Court of Justice. After articling for the law firm of Goodman Philips & Vineberg (now Goodmans,
LLP), Mr. Prutschi started his own practice focused on criminal and quasi-criminal litigation, eventually
teaming up with Leo Adler and Boris Bytensky to form the boutique firm of Adler Bytensky Prutschi
Shikhman. Mr. Prutschi appears routinely before all levels of court in Ontario including the Superior Court
of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal. He is a former faculty member for the Criminal Law course at
the Law Society of Upper Canadas Bar Admission Course where he has instructed law school graduates in
criminal procedure prior to their admission to the profession. Mr. Prutschi has also been sought after as a
guest speaker in the area of criminal law providing recent addresses to the Ontario Camping Association,
the Ontario Bar Association, the Toronto Construction Association, The Commons Institute and Osgoode
Hall Law School.
