General Objective:

Specific Objectives:
>Familiarize myself with the hospital settings.
>Establish rapport to the clients.
>Maintain a harmonious relationship with the staff, clinical instructor, and nursing students.
>Provide total client care.
>Develop skills that I learned in school to be utilized in the near future
>Learn and experience things that will widen my horizon.
Knowing the persons who belong to the nursing team of the school is important because as a
health care system, harmonious working relationship is needed to facilitate productive and effective
teamwork. Eventually, the needs of the client are met thus fulfilling the ultimate goal of the system, which
is the delivery of healthcare services. But before achieving this goal, there should also be respect, honesty,
and dedication to the things that we are doing and knowing our responsibilities and roles as health care
providers by heart.
Touching others peoples live and being able to cater to their needs is an achievement that no
other thing can replace. The feeling of fulfillment I have me makes me believe that as long as I love what
Im doing, there can be a thousand people or even hundreds of thousand people in this world that I can
offer my undying service.
It was my third time to be assigned in the hospital setting and with the brief orientation we had, I
came to know about the standard protocols being implemented from which I realized my obligation to
always bear these things in mind. I was able to be familiarized. My skills were enhanced. Being a student
nurse, knowing such policies brings a guiding light that keeps me on the right track. Moreover, I believe
that as long as I know and do what is right, Im better able to do the roles expected of me.
The duty was full of chismisan (bonding session). Our Clinical Instructor was so cool. He told us
some concepts. Presence of mind is of great importance in our chosen career. And it challenged me when
Sir Wilmar told us his experiences and accomplishments. What bothered me were our prelim grades,
eventhough I reached the cut-off grade still it was a very low and instead of making my parents proud, I
disappointed them. I am afraid to be screened out. My circadian rhythm was disturbed. Thats why I just
have to do my best in our RLE and to our next discussions regarding our major subjects. We get to know
each other through chatting with Sir and with my group mates. We tackle a lot of things in a chismisan
way. No hassles. And new informations we have learn from it. Informations that are simple in nature but
can highly utilized in the future.
The success of ones duty is not based on the condition of the clients but rather on how we
perceive ourselves as a student nurse and how we carry out our responsibilities for the restoration of our
clients optimum health.
For this experience, I can say that this was the time wherein I was able to interact more with the
clients and with the family. I was really happy because just being there, caring for my clients and
witnessing their progress I know somehow I contributed to their development. All I can say with my duty
is Im happy with the outcome and I really enjoyed it.
With the days to come, Im looking forward for more successful and fruitful duty which could
bring much happiness to me and mostly to my client.
