VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
1.0 On behalf of the Parliament of Tanzania and Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), Public
Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill 2 vacant
posts in the above Public Institutions.

NB: GENERAL CONDITIONS


i. All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania.
ii. Applicants must attach an up-to-date current Curriculum Vitae (CV) having reliable
contact, postal address, e-mail and telephone numbers.
iii. Applicants should apply on the strength of the information given in this advertisement.
iv. The title of the position and institution applied for should be written in the subject
of the application letter and marked on the envelope; short of which will make the
application invalid.
v. Applicants must attach their detailed relevant certified copies of academic certificates:
- Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates.
- Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma transcripts.
- Form IV and Form VI National Examination Certificates.
- Computer Certificate
- Professional certificates from respective boards
- One recent passport size picture and birth certificate.
vi. FORM IV AND FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS ARE STRICTLY NOT ACCEPTED
vii. Testimonials, Partial transcripts and results slips will not be accepted.
viii. Presentation of forged academic certificates and other information in the CV will
necessitate to legal action
ix. Applicants currently employed in the public service should route their application letters
through their respective employers.
x. Applicants who have/were retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should
not apply.

xi. Applicants should indicate three reputable referees with their reliable contacts.
xii. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level
education should be certified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania
(NECTA)
xiii. Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania
Commission for Universities (TCU)
xiv. Deadline for application is 11th March, 2015 at 3:30 p.m.
xv. Applicants with special needs/case (disability) are encouraged to apply and are
supposed to indicate in their application letter.

2.0 THE PARLIAMENT OF TANZANIA


The Tanzania Parliament derives its mandate from the Provisions of Article 62 of the
Constitution of United Republic of Tanzania, (Cap.2) of the Revised Laws of Tanzania,
2002 Edition.
2.1 DIRECTOR OF THE BUDGET DEPARTMENT- 1 POST
2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Render advice to the Budget Committee on preparation of Budget guidelines and
revenue sources,
Advise Government Budget implementation, Monitoring and evaluation plans,
Analyse and advise the Budget Committee on financial bills that are to be
presented before the House,
Research, analyse and advise the Budget Committee on financial and monetary
policies proposed by the Government,
Render general advice on the Government Budget to the House and its Standing
committees,
Advise the Government on the proposed National Development plan,

Prepare and make follow up on the implementation of the Budget of the National
Assembly Fund,
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the National Assembly Corporate Plan
and Development project,
Evolve plans for resource mobilization in order to implement Bunge Projects and
programs and
Supervise Heads of Budget Scrutiny Section, Planning Section, Monitoring and
Evaluation Section and Revenue Sources Section.

2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES


Master`s degree either in Economics, Planning or Budget Management,
Must have working experience in budget analysis and planning not less than ten
(10) years in either public or private sectors,
Must have ability to build team work in the parliamentary set-up and
PhD in the relevant fields will be an added advantage
2.1.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions salary scale.

3.0 TANZANIA TOURIST BOARD (TTB)


The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) is a Government Organization established under the
Tanzania Tourist Board Act. CAP 364. RE 2002 of the Laws of the United Republic of
Tanzania. The main function of the board include the promotion of Destination Tanzania,
encouraging tourism development and fostering an understanding within Tanzania and
outside Tanzania of the importance and economic benefits of the tourist industry.

3.1 MANAGING DIRECTOR - 1 POST


3.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall management of the Board,
Responsible for all policy and operational matters,
Provide the vision, strategic direction and guidance in every area of the boards
operations,
Be responsible for clarification and implementation of policies and procedures laid
down by the Board of Directors for the achievement of the Board`s objectives,
Responsible for the proper and timely implementation of the decisions and
resolutions made by the Board from time to time,
Responsible for all operations/performance activities of the Board and ensure
proper allocation and utilization of resources in order to increase efficiency,

Responsible for preparation of performance plans, periodic reports and submit them
to the Board of Directors and other relevant authorities,
Provide a link between the government and the donor community through the
ministry responsible for tourism, the treasury and other state organs and
Perform such other relevant duties as may be directed by the Board of Directors
from time to time.

3.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES


Masters degree either in Tourism Management, Business Administration, Public
Administration, Marketing Management, Economics or Law,
A PhD holder in Tourism Marketing will be an added advantage for those who do
not possess a Masters Degree in Tourism Management and
The applicant must have at least ten (10) years of proven working experience of
which five (5) years should be in a proven managerial capability and must have
handled the position preferably in a tourism related organization.
3.1.3 REMUNERATION
Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institutions salary scale:
