EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1.1

Summary
1.1.1

Study Objectives
The studies are required to size preliminary ratings for substation
equipment (circuit breaker, disconnect switches, bus bar and etc.)

1.1.2

Scope and Limitations

The result that is shown here only includes ANSI Short Circuit Study.
Load Flow Calculations for nominal ratings are not included due to the
lack of loading data. It is also assumed that equipments nominal
ratings are provided together with the short circuit rating.

1.1.3

Assumptions
The following were assumed in this preliminary report:

1.1.4

All generator impedances that were included in the study used

typical values according to the softwares capability (using
IEEE standard)
All transformer impedances used typical values according to
the softwares capability (IEEE standard)
Transmission lines also used typical configuration for the
calculation of its impedance matrix but using the softwares
library for the wires specifications.
Simplified SLD was used; taken note the bus fault would be
the same through all devices in that bus configuration.
The recommended bus configuration as indicated in the Scope
of Works and Specifications was used.
All generating plants were in-service during fault as this would
give the greatest fault level in the faulted bus. This is the only
one case considered in this study.
Future plant G1B in Sangi S/S was included.
The short circuit calculation used follows the IEEE standard
used in ETAP Powerstation.

Faulted Buses:
The following were assumed to be the faulted bus in this study (please
refer to Appendix 1):
