CHAPTER I: INTRODUTION OF BUILDING


I>
FEATURE OF CONSTRUCTION.
- This is a pre-engineering building which has one story, three spans, and 11
bays. It is built by erection method from several elements that consist of
bridge girder, column, beam, runway beam, truss, steel opening window,
concrete wall panel, concrete roof panel.
+ These elements are fabricated in factory and are transported to the site by
special transportation to erect.
+ This is a huge building with three spans, 11 bays x 6m=72m, it must use
chink of settlement.
- Condition: this construction is assembly on plan site, no limit of plan,
another condition is well, both transportation and equipments are full to
make for the erection. The number of labors always enough.
1> DAT
- Assumption: The plan of construction at level: 0.00m, the head of column is
fixed into foundation at 0.5m.
- Inside column (C2):
H= 11m, h = 9.2 m, w= 5.3

CHAPTER II: DESIGN AND POINT OUT THE SEVERAL METHODS.

According to the diagram of lifting cable on head column, we calculate the


diameter of lifting cable.

II> Choose the type of crane.
The choice of diagram of transport during the erection is important step which
affects to the process of calculation but in fact, the location of crane is suitable as
design so Ryc ( required radius) must select following the real position on the site.
In this requirement of project, it is not limit bank of the site.
After the calculation of parameter had done, we are going to choose the
appropriate diagram of move to reduce the time of move.
We have to choose the crane via four parameters which include:
Hyc: the height from the elevation of crane to Pulley.

The assembly method has not obstacles so we can choose the Jib which slide

The assembly method has not obstacles so we can choose the Jib which slide

4, Installation of steel truss and opening window.


Parameters are identified via Geometrical method:
Span of combined steel truss: 18m, Q=3.19 (T) so we use a crane to assembly.
- The required height of jib: Hyc= Hmc +hcab= HL+a +hel+heq +hcab=
0.5+10.1+5.6+3.5+1.5=21.2(m)

5, Installation of roof panel.


- Roof panel is light weight, but it also has a obstacle in front of which is a
roof truss. Therefore , we should choose the distance between the cable and
the panel in safety , choose e = 1 (m)
- Choose parameters at the place where the panel is the highest with 2
situations : jibs and without jibs.
- Due to geometric method we have the diagram to choose the parameters for
crane :
a) Erect the panel for the center span :

CHAPTER III: TECHNICAL METHODS.


Base on the parameters of crane that is chose above and the present condition
construction of plan to determine the position of crane for erection.
1.Column installation.
Use the crane that name is KX-5363(L=20m) to assembly the both inside column
and outside column with parameters which is mentioned above.
1.1. The position and transportation of diagram of crane.
+ From the zone of action of crane corresponds each member (the area allows the
crane that stands and acts). We identify the zone of erection for all elements.
+ The crane goes straight between the both rows of column. And each the place, it
can assembly two side as shown in figure.

+ The minimum boom outreach of crane is Rmin = 7m; the weight of column Q =
5.88 (ton)

DIAGRAM OF TRANSPORTATION
1.2 Construction methods.
Preparation.
+) Transport columns from the factory to the site by truck or lorry.
Using crane to lift and arrange these columns on the site as shown in
figure
+) On the surface of foundation where marked exactly the position of
columns and there were wood pad, timber and guy wire.
+) Marking all the central lines of columns and marking the level at
the determined point in the column.
+) Checking the dimension of columns : the width, the height, the
section. Checking bolts which link the columns to the run-way beams

such as : the position of joint; the quality of bolt and the screw of all
column. All of them need to satisfy the quality and the quantity.
+) Checking lifting equipments such as : the wires ( no break) ,
friction belt, temporary fixed equipments ( wedge, turn buckle, jack
lift and brace )
+) Preparing the aggregate of hearting concrete to link to the
foundation as design.
ERECTION.
+) Set up the friction belt into the body of system , pour a concrete
layer into the socket foundation.
+) Connecting the lifting system to the hook of crane, the crane lift the
column to the position where is 0,5m from the surface of foundation.
We use wagons and some special equipments to drag the column and
we can reduce the friction.
+) The labour use rope system to set up the column into the centroid
of foundation and then lower the crane gradually to install the column
into foundation.
+) Using 5 wood wedges and 4 turn buckles to fix temporarily, and
then using theodolite to adjust the position of column and using
gradienter to adjust the level of column, contortion the turn buckle and
install the wedge in appropriate way. If the level still does not satisfy ,
we will change the thickness of concrete layer in the foundation.
+) In conclusion, cleaning the base of column and using cement
mortar with high strength to link the column , mortar grade > 20% the
concrete grade of foundation and columns.
Fixing the masonry hollow joint into 2 processes :
- The first process : pour concrete to the bottom of the wedge

- The second process : when the mortar grade reaches to 80% we can get the
wedge out and pour concrete fully to the foundation.

1. Erecting the crane runway beam.


Using crane MKG-16 ( L = 18,5 m )
1.1. The diagram of moving crane
The minimum boom outreach of crane is Rmin = 6m ; the weight of
crane runway beam Q = 3.31 (ton)
The maximum boom outreach of crane is Rmax = 8.7m
Therefore, we can erect them by the way that the crane may run along the
edge of range column. As shown in figure:

The standing position of crane.


The standing position of crane must ensure that the crane can
assemble 2 crane runway beam ( in one bay column ) in the central
span.
The number of standing position of crane is 2 in outside span , 3 in
inside span.

1.3. Construction method.


Preparation
+) Using truck to transport crane runway beams to gather at site and
put along the range of column.
+) Checking the dimension of crane runway beam ( length, width, ..) ,
bolts and the steel pad for connecting of crane runway beam ( quantity
and position )
+) Checking hanging and tie equipments, fasten or replace if
necessary.
+) Checking the level of console by level theodolite , mark the
centroid of beam, checking the distance of column
+) Preparing steel pads, connected equipments such as : bolts, spike
driver , welding rod and band saw brazing machine
+) Hanging and tie equipments must be putted in the right position.
Lifting
+) Installing the hook of crane in hanging and tie equipments of crane
runway beam, lifting crane runway beam up, labours use wire to
control the position of beam.
+) 2 labours will stand in 2 working platform where are on the top of
column to control the beam in right connection and position. If there
are any backlash we will use steel pads.
+) In conclusion , we weld and drive bolts permanently.
3. STEEL TRUSS AND OPENING WINDOW INSTALLATION.
Use the crane that name is XKG-30/35m to erect the steel truss and opening
window.
3.1. position of crane and diagram of transportation.
- Diagram of transportation: crane goes between the inside span.

- determine the place of crane: the location of crane is determined following the
minimum radius and maximum radius of crane that must be corresponded with the
weight of truss, position of truss.
+ install the truss.
-Maximum radius: Rmax=16m
- The crane must lift the truss that has weight equal P=3.65 (ton)
All the things are illustrated in the figure bottom.
+ install the concrete beam
-maximum radius: Rmax=16m
The crane must lift the truss that has weight equal P=4.63(ton)
3.2 Technical installation.
+ Preparation: after labor had fixed permanent the column into the foundation, we
determine the center line to erect another member.
+ Adjustment and strengthening for truss before erecting it on the column.
+ When truss is erected, truss is fixed temporary at three points and we use the
brace bar and tuner buckle. Each truss is fixed temporary at 2 head points and a
center point.
+ Check and adjust the vertical plan of truss compared with vertical plan.
+ fix permanent the truss after the all technical requirement is ensured as design.
4. Roof panel installation.
4.1 Diagram of transportation.
Use the crane XKG-30/35m that go inside span.
4.2 Position of crane.

minimum radius and maximum radius of crane that must be corresponded with the
weight of panel, position of panel.
+ install the roof panel.
-maximum radius: Rmax=16m
- The crane must lift the truss that has weight equal P=1.55 And critical height
H=15.7m
4.3 Technical installation.
+ Preparation: the truss is pined on the column. After that, we lift the panel at four
points and also use the automatic-balance pulley.
+ The panel is erected from border to opening window. It is also noticeable that
we have to determine the location of panel on the roof to avoid the accumulation
on the roof. On the opening window, the panel is erected from one head to other
head.
+ check and adjust the location of panel as design.
+ The panel is fixed permanent after the all technical requirement is ensured as
design.

5. Wall panel installation.


5.1 Diagram of transportation.
Use the crane KX-3461/25m that go straight outside wall.
5.2 Position of crane.

+ install the panel.


- Minimum radius: Rmin=7.5m
-Maximum radius: Rmax=15m
- The crane must lift the wall panel that has weight equal P=0.78(ton) And critical
height H=15.1m
5.3. Technical installation.
+ Preparation: after pouring the concrete into the bracing foundation, we use truck
to prepare the wall panel. The panel is hung by lifting cable and automatic-balance
pulley with two points.
+ Assembly and temporary fixation: erect the wall from bottom to top
+ Check and adjust location of panel as design.
+ Fixation permanent: The panel is fixed permanent after the all technical
requirement is ensured as design

IV. Safety technique in assembling.

- Assembling often proceed at high level so labours need to have a good


healthy ( no vertigo, no headache) . When giving new jobs to labours at the
high level , engineer must inform some technical requirements and safety
methods in a detail way.
- Giving to labours who work at high level some special clothes such as : tidy,
not sliny shoes, protection gloves and safety belt. These belts must stand
static forces which reach to 300 kg. Forbid strictly connecting these safety
belt to unreliable structure.
- When lifting structural element up to 0.5m we must stop and wait for 1-2
minutes to check the safety of hooks.
- No standing under elements which are lifting and installing.
- Labours must stand outside the rotated radius.
- There must be barriers and warning light at night (or guards ) to prohibit
traffic at the site.
- Electric wire must not run over lifting and assembling areas , if not they
must run underground.
- Prohibit labours to stand on the lifting elements.
- Hooks must have safety equipments to avoid slipping. No pull these
components in horizontal because the crane can be turned over.
- Not hanging any weight into the jib in break time.
- Only remove hooks when the components is stable.
- Platform working must be stable , there should be balcony with 1m in
height. The chink between the inside edge of deck and elements must be less
than 10cm.
- Checking regularly, fixing decks and platform working.
- Prohibit traffic on the upper side of jack rafter, beam and braces. Only walk
on the downside of frame when cables lift elements up 1m.
- There should be temporary lightning resistant for high rise building . The
popular method is that using temporary conductor, lighting rod made by
metal and it connects to the ground.

- Use the crane: XKG-30/35m to install concrete beam, steel truss+opening
window, roof panel.

+ Construction: 8 shift
+ Moving to site and coming back the fabrication: 2 shift
