    The breakdown of the municipal
    council candidates in the three governorates is Northern Governorate
    with 47 candidates contesting from

    12 constituencies, 51 candidates contesting from Southern Governorates


    10 constituencies and 56 candidates
    running from eight constituencies in

    Muharraq Governorate.
    Expatriate and GCC citizens who
    own properties in Bahrain are eligible
    to vote in the municipal council polls.

    However, neither group is entitled to a vote in the parliamentary election, which is only open to
    Bahrainis.

    Elections will be held on November 22, with a second round if needed
