Abstract
The objective of this Natural Science Project aims to help those
who have problem with having nightmare and cant sleep well.
We have divided the topic we need to study about in to 4 topic
What is nightmare .What causes nightmare to happen .Example of
nightmare and what they mean.We want to find out that is the
method that our group has think can actually Help or not .
In this project we have been testing out the method that our
group by give the instruction to the volunteer and collect the result
after one week .And well calculate whats the best way to avoid
nightmare.

INTRODUCTION

Background and Concepts

Sleep is one big factor of having good health or
not .Many peoples have problem about sleep due the
stress problem ,too much working problem and having
nightmare problem .And nightmare problem is one of
the problem that having in every gender and ages .And
the sleep problem make people health goes more
terrible.
Usually people try to solve the nightmare
problem by themselves .But their method might not
safe for their health ,example they eat the sleeping pill
to sleep .Which is not safe for their health because they
might get addict to it .
In this project our group try to find the best way
to avoid nightmare for people in ages from 12-14 to
improve sleeping problem and health problem at
last .We have plan to solve this nightmare problem by
finding the method to avoid nightmare in the safe and
effective way based on our research.

Objective of the Study

To find out is the method of our group can actually
help or not.

BACKGROUND RESEARCH

1 Information about what is

nightmare.
2 Information what causes

nightmare to happen.
3 Information about example of
nightmare and what they mean.
1.Information about What is
nightmare?
Nightmares are vividly realistic, disturbing
dreams that rattle you awake from a deep sleep.
They often set your heart pounding from fear.
Nightmares tend to occur most often during rapid
eye movement (REM) sleep, when most dreaming
takes place. Because periods of REM sleep
become progressively longer as the night
progresses, you may find you experience
nightmares most often in the early morning
hours.
The subjects of nightmares vary from person
to person. There are, though, some common
nightmares that many people experience. For
example, a lot of adults have nightmares about

not being able to run fast enough to escape

danger or about falling from a great height. If
you've gone through a traumatic event, such as
an attack or accident, you may have recurrent
nightmares about your experience.
Although nightmares and night terrors both
cause people to awake in great fear, they are
different. Night terrors typically occur in the first
few hours after falling asleep. They are
experienced as feelings, not dreams, so people
do not recall why they are terrified upon

2.Information about what

causes nightmare to happen.
Nightmares in adults are often spontaneous.
But they can also be caused by a variety of
factors and underlying disorders.
Some people have nightmares after having a
late-night snack, which can increase metabolism
and signal the brain to be more active. A number
of medications also are known to contribute to
nightmare frequency. Drugs that act on
chemicals in the brain, such
asantidepressants and narcotics, are often
associated with nightmares. Non-psychological
medications, including some blood pressure
medications, can also cause nightmares in adults.

Withdrawal from medications and

substances, including alcohol and tranquilizers,
may trigger nightmares. If you notice a difference
in your nightmare frequency after a change in
medication, talk with your doctor.
Sleep deprivation may contribute to adult
nightmares, which themselves often cause
people to lose additional sleep. Though it's
possible, it has not been confirmed whether this
cycle could lead to nightmare disorder.
There can be a number of psychological triggers
that cause nightmares in adults. For example,
anxiety and depression can cause adult
nightmares. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
also commonly causes people to experience
chronic, recurrent nightmares.
Nightmares in adults can be caused by certain
sleep disorders. These include sleep
apnea and restless legs syndrome. If no other
cause can be determined, chronic nightmares
may be a distinct sleep disorder. People who
have relatives with nightmare disorder may be
more likely to have the condition themselves.

3.Information Example of
nightmare and what they
mean.
3.1 Being chased or attacked
This is by far the most common of all
the nightmares that people tend to
experience. Nightmares in this category can
deal with being chased or attacked by
people, animals or paranormal creatures.
These types of dreams are frequently
manifestations of being afraid of
confrontation regarding something in your
life. This can be a pushy boss, an unruly
teacher, an abusive parent or even an
unhealthy romantic relationship. The feeling
of being chased is often a sign of not being
able to confront difficult scenarios within
your personal life. Also, your actions within
the dream to get away from the attacker
may also be influenced by your real life. For
example, if you find yourself hiding in fear in
the dream, this may indicate that that is
how you are dealing with your problems in
the real world. Taking note of your actions
within the dream may help you find a
correlation between the nightmare and your

real life actions that can help you deal with

the problem..
3.2 Falling
Nightmares about falling are often a
representation of anxiety in your personal
life about not being in control of yourself.
These anxieties are often due to issues with
relationships, careers or some kind of abuse.
The feeling of falling to certain death relates
to the person feeling that they are unable to
control a certain aspect of, or situation in,
their life. These nightmares are often shared
by people who are in high places of power,
but still feel that they cannot control certain
parts of their life.

3.3 Being trapped

Dreams about being trapped are quite
common for individuals who suffer from
claustrophobic anxiety, a condition in which
a person has a fear of being in small spaces
where they cannot move and become
trapped. However, this type of nightmare
can also be experienced by types of
individuals who are afraid of not being able
to get out of their current situation,

including a dead end job or a negative

relationship they feel they cannot escape.
The nightmare can be a manifestation of
fear of not being able to reach your full
potential due to circumstances.
3.4 Partner leaving
Nightmares about a persons spouse
or significant other leaving them are
definitely one of the types most rooted in
the real world. This can be a straightforward
nightmare that simply represents a feeling
of dread from the individual about their
partner leaving them and being alone. This
type of nightmare can also be caused by
feelings of insecurity in the relationship
where the individual feels they are sub-par
or not good enough for their partner.
3.5 Injuries
When people experience nightmares
of being injured or wounded, the cause is
often some feeling of weakness in their own
personal lives. Dreaming about breaking
bones or injuries can be your brains way of
alerting you that you are feeling weakness
or vulnerability in one part of your life or
another. Finding out what your weaknesses

are and working on improving them

can

often help relieve this type of nightmare.
