Hi.. My dear friends…this is Eajaz ali from Valliammai Engineering College …..I would like to
share my experience in the Mindtree campus interview which held in our college on july 14th-
2007..Totally 800 attended(off campus for us with SRM and Eshwari).
70 selected.. 7 from our college…

There were totally 3 rounds..

1.General aptitude.
2.Group Discussion.
3.Tech+hr interview.

General Aptitude:
The general apptitude consisted of 7 sections… Sections 1,2,3,4 had time for each section.. 5-7
remaining time.. 97 questions in 60 min...
Section 1:
4 flow charts.. each flow chart consisted of 5 questions.. so totally 20 questions my dear friends..
Here problems were of the type where we have to check from the options given and mark it for
the appropriate symbol.
Eg: for a rectangle symbol the options will be 1.A ranges from 2.5 to 3.5 .,2. A ranges from 2 to
2.5, 3,4,5. something like that…
Friends these problems are really very easy if u understand the sample flow chart given that is
solved..

Section 2:
This is the speed maths section.. here 12 questions were asked that r to be solved in 3 minutes…
Eg.
3*512/63=? Problems of these types ….
U can solve this section by seeing the approximate answer… Please be ACTIVE and fast…

Section 3:
This section consisted of 20 questions that r to be solved in 3 minutes..
Its very very easy if u understand the sample problem given with u solution..
Eg.
Questions:

Section 4:
This section had questions based on symbols. 20 questions 15 min..
Eg.
If A=10 paise, then 1 rupee = 10A… very simple problems…..
Time for the sections 5-7 is

Section 5:
This section had some 8 questions on general IT ability…..
Eg.
High level to Machine level language is converted using
1.compiler
2.assembler
3.loader
4.likker
5.none of these.

Section 6:
This section contained a flow chart that was very simple(do this first). 7 questions.
A flow chart wil be given and simple questions will be asked….

Section 7:
10 questions….
This section will have some paragraphs.Questions will be asked based on each paragraph.
Eg:
A passage of lines on some situation like the communication in an e-mail…. And few questions
based on that…(pretty simple).

2nd ROUND: GROUP DISCUSSION

Topics for our batch:
1.The commercialization of cricket has put down other games.
2.How can technology improve the villages in India …

Topics for other batches are:

1. India in 2020…. few more….
3rd ROUND: TECH+HR
I was the first person to attend the hr in my panel.. so was very lucky.. I was not asked even a
single technical question .. (VERY VERY LUCKY)……
Hr: hi.. I m sunil..
Me:Hello sir .. Good afternoon.. I m eajaz..
Hr: Take your seat.
Me: Thank you sir.
Hr: Ok eajaz.. May I have your resume..
Me: definitely sir…( I had it in my file so gave him along with my file).
Hr: Hey.. I m very much impressed with the way u have arranged ur marks sheets
and certificates eajaz…. Really it s nice.. its so rare to see such things…. It is showing that u r
very disciplined.. mind tree needs people like you only eajaz..
Me: thank you so much sir(a signal of my selection).
Hr:Hey u have scored so well in your board exams (95%).. you r having a
consistent performance… its nice man..
Me: thank u sir..
Hr: ok.. I ‘ll give you a transport project . how long will you take to complete it..?
Me:sir.. First I ‘ll discuss with all my team members . wat is required for the project, wat to
analyze, wat to analyze., how and wat to code , how and wat to test.. then depending on the size
of the project I can tell you the time sir..
Hr: good man.
Me: thank u sir..
Hr: ok eajaz.. If I give u 10% hike and if cts or infi gives u 25% hike.. ‘ll u leave mindtree..???
Me: Sir. Mind tree is the first company that has recognized me and I ‘ll be faithful to mindtree.
Hr: hey .. don’t speak in sense that I should hire you. Tel me frankly…
Me: sir .. honestky speaking I ‘ll see where there r good and challenging projects and ‘ll do
according to that.. salary is not a factor for me…..
Hr: ok fine eajaz..Tell me two things why should mind tree select you..??
Me: first is my eligibility and qualification.next is that since mind tree is a young and
fast growing company I can be well disciplined in my work skills for mind tree..
Hr: Ok eajaz… wat r ur hobbies.??
Me: listen to music. Watching tv.. m a craze fan of rahman…..
Hr : Ok.. I m really impressed with you eajaz…. Even if u join mind tree u should your
consistent performance as u have in your mark sheets..
Me: definitely sir…..
Hr: good.. I ‘ll send your result to chief hr. you may go now.. it was a pleasure having u..
Me: thank you sir.. its my pleasure too…

Aaah… friends.. it was a good time for me…Be cool and confident guys…. by gods grace and
all my friends and parents blessings I was selected and my name was announced 2nd…….
It was a big day for me.. was veryyyyyyyy happyyyyyy….

MINDTREE 20th FEBRUARY AT KARNATAKA
Hello guys this is dattatreya halade from UBDT college DAVANGERE, Karnataka..
MINDTREE CONSULTING visited our coll campus on 19-20th Feb. out of 115 people who
attended Round-1 only 18 were selected. Here is the selection procedure that the company
followed in OUR campus..

ROUND-1: - Written Test

30 quantitative aptitude questions ONLY (refer R.S aggarwal).
Time limit of 45mins
Some quests
Avg of 5 nos is 6, in that 3 nos avg is 8, whats avg of other 2? Ans- 3
Similar questions on area, time/work, %age, age, speed…
Sorted candidates were 51 out of 115.
NOTE: - aggregate matters on Ur selection in round-1 as well, if u have agg > 70 then u r almost
guaranteed a spot in the GDs...

ROUND-2: - GD
3 groups of 17 people each made...
Topics: - cricket, censorship, and another one!
Out of 51, 39 were selected, twas the easiest round to clear…

ROUND-3: - TECHNICAL WRITTEN TEST.

For respective branches, questions of their types were allotted, there was no time limit as such
they wanted to measure the approach of the candidate towards questions... around 8 quests were
given and 3hrs allotted...
Some topics of help- C (definitely for computer science guys) Microprocessor (elect guys)
Filtration: - out of 39, 21 were selected for the next round.

ROUND-4: - HR INTERVIEW.
Simple interview with basic HR questions, Be prepared with the company profile etc...
Finally 18 from 21 were selected…

My suggestion would be a bit of technical knowledge and a lot of LUCK will help!

Mindtree at DA-IICT , Gandhinagar and there were three different papers for three streams ( CS,
VLSI, DSP) There were 16 questions ( I have only 15 ). Finally Mindtree took 55
students from DA-IICT.

1. An expression was given like B + A .B + !A .B + . . . . . and what will be the final expression
o/p :- ( Easy )
2. state diagram was given and what state will be detected ?
3. Counter and three states were given( 13 , 15 , 14 , 10 ) what will be the next value ? ( ans. 11 –
Gray counter )
4. For one circuit inputs are ABCD and output is zero for first eight inputs and 1 for next eight .
What will be the expression for circuit ? ( ans :- A)
5. What is octal representation of 01010101 ? ( ans. 125 )
6. D flip-flop with inverted feedback was given and question was based on maximum frequency
allowed ( setup , hold etc. times were given )
7. Question based on instruction T states and CPI was asked .
 8. What happens when HALT instruction is executed? ( Enter wait state and waits for interrupt
or reset , Enters in to sleep state , etc. ( ans. Waits for interrupt or reset )
9. What happens when PUSH instruction is executed : ( content of accumulator is saved, content
of PC is changed , stack pointer is decremented and value value is saved )
10. Two bulbs of 40 Watt and 60 Watts were added in series . What will happen ? ( 40 watt will
be brighter , 60 watts will be brighter , both will have same brightness , none ) ( Ans. 40 watt)
11. If widths of all PMOS an NMOS are doubled in any circuit then what will be effect on noise
margin ? ( ans. No effect)
12. If gate and one end of NMOS are connected to Vdd , what will be the output at second end of
NMOS ? ( Vdd- Vth – NMOS are bad 1 ‘s)
13. a band limited signal is sampled at Nyquist rate , to reconstruct it the output will be given to :
( RC filter , Envelope detector , LPF with -- )

18/07/05. There were 14 question in objective plus one C program in the
software stream. plus there were separate papers for VLSO AND DSP

In Interview they are asking to explain the program you have written. and also about one of your intersting
subject. HR questions are cool.Tell me about yourself and family.
GD topics.
1. If both husband and wife are working in the same organisation.
2. Cordination between educational institutions and companies.
3. Linux Vs Microsoft . Which will perish?. For written test 45 aptitute questions.These Questions take
time. 1 programing question. We have to write program(This program will be evaluated if you are qualified for
Interview).you will be given choice(ie write one out of two given) both the programs are on files
1. We have to count the 3 letter,4letter and 5letter words from a file and print the number of 3 letter,4letter and
5letter words. Delimiter is space,tab,hifen.Also we should not consider the line in the file after we encounter # in
that line.(ie after # we should not consider the portion of line)
2. In file count the number of charecters,number of words,number of line.Delimiter between words is given as
command line argument. 1hour 15 min is given for the test. we have to answer both apptitue and program with in
