PSTN number

ranges Database
Database
layout sheet
Below you can see which fields the PSTN number ranges
database contains as well as each fields characteristics. It is
recommended to use a database program (Microsoft Access,
OpenOffice Base, SQL, etc.). Please note that Microsoft
Excel 97-2003 can only show the first 65.000 entries.

CNS
Length: up to 15 digits

The CNS is the full international subscriber number, which allows

you to determine the type of number you are dealing with.
The CNS consists of up to four parts: Country code (CC),
Additional digits (AD), National destination code (NDC) and
Subscriber number (SN). NDC and SN together are also referred to
as National significant number (NSN). The use of additional digits
(AD) is very uncommon and constitutes a non-E.164 number.

country_code
Length: 1, 2 or 3 digits

This refers to the country code or global destination code as

assigned by the International Telecommunications Union in
Recommendation E.164 or as commonly used by the international
community.

national_significant_number
Length: 0 to 14 digits

This refers to the number range within a country or global service.

NSN stands for national significant number, which means that
these numbers are the least numbers necessary to identify the
number type (and registrar). The length of the NSN depends on the
numbering plan, but may also depend on the length of the country
code (CC). The total digit length of any number in international
format (excluding trunk digits, additional digits and international
access codes) may not exceed fifteen.
