Lion Brand Homespun Thick & Quick - Imagine

Openwork Knit Shrug
Pattern Number: L30280
SKILL LEVEL: Easy
SIZE: One Size
Finished Length About 46 in. (117 cm) from cuff to cuff
Finished Width About 22 in. (56 cm)
CORRECTIONS: (applied Nov 13, 2013)
Sleeve Ruffles
The B yarn used for the ruffles is constructed like a tube.
Cut a 20 in. (51 cm) length of B. Smooth out the length of B, as though smoothing a piece of fabric to
open the fabric of the yarn slightly.
With sewing needle and thread, whipstitch both cut ends of the length of B to secure the raw edges.
Fold the piece length of B in half lengthwise and with sewing needle and thread, sew a running st along
the folded edge. Pull the sewing thread to make gathers and draw piece up until it measures same as
wrist edge. This will begin to gather the length of B. Continue to pull the sewing thread to gather the
length of B until it measures about the same size as the lower edge of the sleeve.

GAUGE:
9 sts + 16 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Pattern st with A.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the
size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you
fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if
more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
M1 (make 1) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal strand lying between needles and placing
it onto the left needle. Knit this new stitch through the back loop - 1 st increased.
