PATTERN
Baby Moccasins

Two sc worked together (sc2tog):

Begin to work sc, but dont finish it, leave two loops on hook.
Insert hook in next st and pull the yarn through it so that you
have 3 stitches on hook now. Yarn over and pull through all 3
loops on the hook. Stitch completed.

Both shoes are made in exactly the same way!

When making the sole, you have to join in first hdc and start next
round with next st, not with the one where you joined!

Rnd 1: 9 [11]ch, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next 5[7]sts,

6hdc in last ch, work on opposite side, hdc in next 5[7] sts,
5hdc in last ch, join with sl st in first hdc.
Rnd 2: 1ch, hdc in next 6[8]sts, 2hdc in each of next 5sts, hdc
in next 6[8]sts, 2hdc in each of next 5sts, join with sl st in
first hdc.
Rnd 3: 1ch, hdc in next 6[8]sts, (2hdc in next st, 1hdc in
next st) 5 times, hdc in next 6[8]sts, (2hdc in next st, 1hdc
in next st) 5 times, join with sl st in first hdc.

Pattern is made for size 0-6 months. Changes for size 612 months are in [ ].
0-6months 9,5cm
6-12months 11cm

30g or 70 yards of any worsted weight yarn

(MEDIUM 4) (for sample 100% wool yarn was
used)
small amount of worsted weight yarn in
contrasting color
crochet hook 3.5mm (E)
2 buttons
tapestry needle
Rnd 1: working in back loops, ch1 (doesnt count as stitch
here and throughout), hdc in base of ch-1, hdc in each of
next 41[45]sts, join with sl st in 1st hdc (42[46]sts)
Rnd 2: working in both loops, ch1, hdc in base of ch-1, hdc
in next 9[10]sts, sc2tog, hdc in next 6[7]sts, sc2tog, hdc in
next 11[12]sts, sc2tog, hdc in next 6[7]sts, sc2tog, hdc in
next st, join with sl st in 1st hdc (38[42]sts)
Rnd 3: ch1, hdc in base of ch-1, hdc in next 9[10]sts, sc2tog,
hdc in next 5[6]sts, sc2tog, hdc in next 9[10]sts, sc2tog, hdc
in next 6[7]sts, sc2tog, join with sl st in 1st hdc (34[38]sts)
Fasten off.

With worsted weight yarn - work 9sts and 9rows in sc to

measure 5x5cm or 2x2in using 3.5mm hook, or size
required to obtain the gauge.

Starting from the center of the back heel, work sc evenly

around the bootie and the tongue. Fasten off.

Working in centremost 6[7]sts of the front (it is exactly

between two sc2tog) and work in rows.
Row 1: ch1, hdc in the same st, hdc in next 5[6]sts, skip
one st, sl st in each of next 2sts, (sl sts always work
along the side of bootie), turn

nd

Row 1: ch7[8], sc in 2 ch from hook and in each next ch,

turn (6[7]sc)
Row 2: ch1, sc in each of next 6[7]sts, turn (6[7]sc)
Row 3: ch1, sc in each of next 6[7]sts, ch6, join with sl st in
opposite side in remaining loop of basic ch, (see next
photo), and work sl st till the end of row working in
remaining loops. Fasten off, but leave long tail.

Make two straps!

Thread the tapestry needle with the tail of strap, place the
strap on the side of the front of the bootie (wrong side
facing you) and sew it on. Don't forget to make it reversed
for second bootie! Sew on the buttons opposite the straps!

Row 2: skip 2 sl sts, hdc in next 6[7]sts, skip one st along

the side, sl st in each of next 2sts, turn
Rows 3-4: repeat Row2
Row 5: skip 2 sl sts, hdc in next 6[7]sts, sl st in next st,
turn
Row 6: ch1, skip 1 sl st, hdc in next 6[7]sts, turn
Row 7: ch1, skip 1st, hdc in next 4[5]sts, turn
Row 8: ch1, hdc in next 4[5]sts. Fasten off.
