*Operating System Used *

The Operating System (OS) is a collection of programs that control all
the Hardware and other resources in the Computer System. It is the
Operating System that controls and operates the CPU, Memory, Various I/O
devices such as Keyboard, Mouse, and Printer etc. It is responsible for the
smooth and efficient Operation of Computer.
Windows 95 and Windows NT are two other popular Operating
Systems for PCs from Microsoft Corporation. Windows 95 is an updated
version of Windows 3.1Operating Environment. Microsoft came out with and
updated enhanced. Version of Windows 95 in the form of Windows 98.
Window can convert the plane character- based interface provided
by DOS into a Graphical User Interface(GUI).
It provides multitasking facilities to PC. A PC running DOS can run
only one task at a time. However, Windows converts a PC that could run just
one program into PC that can run one or more task simultaneously. The
number of task that Windows based PC can run depends on the amount of
RAM available in your PC.
Unlike, DOS that displays information in characters of the same size,
Windows can use different shapes and sizes of characters can be displayed and
printed.
Windows provide the basis for each program i.e. to Select, Cut, Copy
or Move or etc. where as in Windows all these things can be handled by Mouse
i.e. just by Right or Left Click or by just dragging the Mouse. Hence this
Operating System is User friendly.

About Front-page

*Front-page*
Front page Makes it easy for you and your students to create
webside. With Front page, You can create the structure or layout of your web
side, apply graphical themes to its pages, and organize its files and folders.
You can import and export files, test and repair hyperlinks, tracks and design
and edit the contents of your web pages. When your web is completed, use
Front page to publish it on your computer, your organizations intranet, or the
world wide web.
As you add components such as text, images, tables and form
elements. Front page displays them, as they would appear in a web browser.
Although it is a powerful tool, Front page is easy to use because it looks much
like a word-processor. You do not need to learn hypertext markup language to
use front page because it creates all the html code for you. You can click the
html tab at the bottom of the page to view and directly edit the
Code and then click normal for what you see is what you get
(WYSIWYG) format. Also , the preview tab lets you see what you web site
look like in the browser.
You can create hyperlinks between pages and to other web sites on
the World Wide Web.
Term world wide web suggests, the internet is made up of an
enormous numbers of linked computers, web sites, documents,
images and text. Hyperlinks are what make up the strands of the
web. When you link your site to the world wide web is simple.
To give your site a professional and consistent look, use styles. Styles
define the appearance of text elements of a web, such as headings
and text, and can make formatting simple.
You apply a style to a paragraph or world, you can apply a whole
group of character or paragraph formats in one simple operation.
When you want to change the formatting of all the text of a
particular element at once, just change the style thats applied to that
element.

About HTML

*HTML*

HTML stands for hypertext markup language. HTML is a

improved
version of SGML (standard generalized markup language).

HTML evolved in the following four stages: Included only in the basic structural elements and assumed that
all browsers supported all features level 0. this was very similar to
SGML.
Advanced feature included highlighted text and graphics that
were supported depending on the browser capability. Many useful
elements found in the current version of HTML were added in
this stage.
Introduced the world wide web as an interactive medium. Forms
with high level of user interaction were introduced.
Introduced frames and multimedia support.

How HTML is converted into a web page ?

The set of instructions written in HTML is interpreted by the
web browser (Ex. internet explorer, netscape etc). that is every
instruction is read line by line and the appropriate action for that line is
carried out. Thus whole HTML code is converted into a web page,
which is presented to the end user.

JAVASCRIPT

What is the Introduction of JAVASCRIPT?

JavaScript is an easy-to-use programming language that can be
embedded in the header of web pages.
It can enhance the dynamics and interactive features of our page by
allowing us to perform calculations, validate forms, write interactive
games, add special effects, customize graphics selections, create security
passwords etc.
It is as powerful as VBScript and other scripting languages.
History of JAVASCRIPT..
Javascript was developed by Netscape under the name Live script.
These scripts were used to enhance the web pages by providing some
HTML level interaction for the user.
Later, live script was used as a communicate medium between HTML
documents and Java applets.
In December 1995,Netscape and Sun joined renamed the language as
JavaScript.
Using JAVASCRIPT in an Html page..
JavaScript are written as part of HTML documents
The Browser software interprets the javascript commands just as it does
with HTML tags.
Browsers must be equipped with Javascript interpreters to take
advantage of the scripts in web pages.
Any Java compatible browser will also be able to interpret JavaScript
scripts.
JAVASCRIPTS can be used in the following situations :1. Designing web page to respond to user interaction with form
elements.

2. Importing and exporting data from the databases and providing

friendly interface to data.
3. Processing the data on the client side before submitting it to the
server.
OBJECTS, PROPERTIES, METHODS AND EVENTS..
Web page document is an object.
Any table, form, button, image, or link on the page is also an
object.
Each object has certain properties (information about the object)
and methods (control the behavior of the object).
To specify a particular element of the form, we must use the forms
property of the document object. (ex:
document.form.button.value refers to the value held by the button
object which in turn is the property of the form object).
If there are multiple forms within a document, part of a dot
syntax must include a pointer to a specific numbered form
(numbering is done according to the order in which the forms
appear within the document). For example:
document.forms[0].button.value refers to value of button within
the first form of the current document.
PROPERTIES--------------Properties are used to describe an object or its current state. A property
is defined by assigning a value to it. Value can be assigned to the
property by the browser or program or the user interacting with the
page. For example, the background color of the document is set by the
property document.bg.Color. We can change the color of the page to red
by writing the line: document.bgColor=red.
METHODS-------------------------A function associated with an Object is called Objects Method.
Methods control the operation of an object . Each object may have a set

of built-in-methods. For example, username.toUpperCase() is a built- in

method that returns an upper case version of the string contained in
username object. A new document is opened with the method
document.open(). We can use a method document.write(Hello World)
to display Hello World in a document.

Event Handling:An event is a state that triggers a specific action on the object. The
easiest example is a button, whose definition includes the words
OnClick=run_my_function(). The OnClick event, as its name implies,
will run the function when the user clicks on the button. Other events
include OnMouseOver, OnMouseOut, OnFocus, OnBlur, OnLoad, and
OnUnload. Event handlers allow programmers to look for special user
behavior in relation to the HTML page, such as clicking a Form button
or moving the mouse pointer over an anchor. Event handlers are
embedded in HTML tags, typically used as part of forms, but are also
included as part of anchors and links. Anything that a user can do to
interact with a page is covered by the event-handlers ranging from
moving the mouse to leaving a current page.

About CSS

(Cascading Style Sheet)

* CSS *
(Cascading Style Sheet)

What is CSS?

CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets

Styles define how to display HTML elements
Styles are normally stored in Style Sheets
Styles were added to HTML 4.0 to solve a problem
External Style Sheets can save you a lot of work
External Style Sheets are stored in CSS files
Multiple style definitions will cascade into one
CSS Demo

With CSS, your HTML documents can be displayed using

different output styles:

Styles Solve a Common Problem

HTML tags were originally designed to define the content of a
document. They were supposed to say "This is a header", "This is a
paragraph", "This is a table", by using tags like <h1>, <p>, <table>, and so
on. The layout of the document was supposed to be taken care of by the
browser, without using any formatting tags.
As the two major browsers - Netscape and Internet Explorer continued to add new HTML tags and attributes (like the <font> tag and the
color attribute) to the original HTML specification, it became more and more
difficult to create Web sites where the content of HTML documents was
clearly separated from the document's presentation layout.
To solve this problem, the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) - the
non profit, standard setting consortium, responsible for standardizing HTML
- created STYLES in addition to HTML 4.0. All major browsers support
Cascading Style Sheets.

Style Sheets Can Save a Lot of Work

Styles sheets define HOW HTML elements are to be displayed, just

like the font tag and the color attribute in HTML 3.2. Styles are normally
saved in external .css files. External style sheets enable you to change the
appearance and layout of all the pages in your Web, just by editing one single
CSS document!
CSS is a breakthrough in Web design because it allows developers to
control the style and layout of multiple Web pages all at once. As a Web
developer you can define a style for each HTML element and apply it to as
many Web pages as you want. To make a global change, simply change the
style, and all elements in the Web are updated automatically.

Multiple Styles Will Cascade into One

Style sheets allow style information to be specified in many ways.

Styles can be specified inside a single HTML element, inside the <head>
element of an HTML page, or in an external CSS file. Even multiple external
style sheets can be referenced inside a single HTML document.

Cascading Order

What style will be used when there is more than one style specified for an
HTML element?
Generally speaking we can say that all the styles will "cascade" into a
new "virtual" style sheet by the following rules, where number four has the
highest priority:
1. Browser default
2. External style sheet
3. Internal style sheet (inside the <head> tag)
4. Inline style (inside an HTML element)
So, an inline style (inside an HTML element) has the highest priority, which
means that it will override a style declared inside the <head> tag, in an
external style sheet, or in a browser (a default value).

About ASP

(Active Server Page)

*ASP*
(Active Server Page)

What is ASP ?
ASP stands for Active Server Pages
ASP is a program that runs inside IIS
IIS stands for Internet Information Services
IIS comes as a free component with Windows 2000
IIS is also a part of the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack
The Option Pack can be downloaded from Microsoft
PWS is a smaller - but fully functional - version of IIS
PWS can be found on your Windows 95/98 CD
ASP Compatibility
ASP is a Microsoft Technology
To run IIS you must have Windows NT 4.0 or later
To run PWS you must have Windows 95 or later
ChiliASP is a technology that runs ASP without Windows OS
InstantASP is another technology that runs ASP without Windows
What is an ASP File?
An ASP file is just the same as an HTML file
An ASP file can contain text, HTML, XML, and scripts
Scripts in an ASP file are executed on the server
An ASP file has the file extension ".asp"
How Does ASP Differ from HTML?
When a browser requests an HTML file, the server returns the file
When a browser requests an ASP file, IIS passes the request to the ASP
engine. The ASP engine reads the ASP file, line by line, and executes the
scripts in the file. Finally, the ASP file is returned to the browser as plain
HTML
What can ASP do for you?
Dynamically edit, change or add any content of a Web page

Respond to user queries or data submitted from HTML forms

Access any data or databases and return the results to a browser
Customize a Web page to make it more useful for individual users
The advantages of using ASP instead of CGI and Perl, are those of
simplicity and speed
Provide security since your ASP code can not be viewed from the
browser
Clever ASP programming can minimize the network traffic.

WHY USE ASP & OTHER

FEATURES

* Why USE ASP *

CREATING .ASP FILES & FRONTPAGE
An active server pages (.asp) is a text file with the extension .asp that
contains any combination of the following.
TEXT
HTML TAGS
ASP SCRIPT COMMAND
Its easy to create an .asp file .for any html file to which you want to
add scripts, rename the file by replacing the exiting .html or .htm file name
extension with .asp to make the .asp file available to web users, save the
new files in directory on your web site (be sure that the directory has script
or execute permission enabled). When you view the file with your browser,
you see the asp processes and return an html page. You can now add script
command to .asp file.
Note because .asp files require extra processing, you should not
convert your entire html pages into asp pages. Convert only the file that
will have script command into .asp files. You can put both .asp and html
files in the same directory.
You can use any text editor to create .asp files. You may find it more
productivities to use an editor with enhance support for asp, such as micro
soft visual interdev, if you have never used html before, consider getting
stared with micro soft front page, front-page lets you create documents and
format text just as you would with a word processor. You can then add
simple asp command to the html page created by front-page by using the
insert script command.

About VBScript

*VBScript*

What is VBScript?

VBScript is a scripting language

A scripting language is a lightweight programming language

VBScript is a light version of Microsoft's programming language Visual

Basic

How Does it Work?

When a VBScript is inserted into a HTML document, the Internet
browser will read the HTML and interpret the VBScript. The VBScript can
be executed immediately, or at a later event.

WORKING WITH

VB-SCRIPT
In the beginning there were assembly and compiled languages.
Later came scripting languages such as sed, awk, and perl, which many
programmers used to perform a variety of tasks. There were folled by, in the
late 1980s and early 1990s, the internet ,which exploded into a technological
revolution that allowed anyone with a modem to communicate and retrieve
information from around the world. As the internet grew in number of user, it
was obvious that in increase in functionality was needed in the browser being
used and in the data they were rendering
Html, even with its advantage, was filling short of providing a
control many developers wanted when creating web pages and application.this
promoted the use of server side programs to handle some of the page
dynamics developers needed from their sites.
These programs helped web developers by allowing them to
increase a sites functionality and to process user submitted information.
However, cgi, or common gateway interface , program had to generate to
response that hold the user to resubmit a request when he or she send
incorrect or incomplete information, this led to a lot of back-and- fouth data
transmission between a browser and a server, but, overall it was minor price
to pay for the functionality received.
It became increasingly obvious that client side intelligence was
needed to replace some of the cgi functionality and error checking and
decreasing the amount of time a user spent connecting to server. This would
also allow the web site to offload some its processing load to the browser
machine, which meant an increase in the overall performance of a site.

*Use the Different Form Fields*

FORM FIELD
TYPE
Text Box

List Box

Description
When you need to allow the user to enter a
string of characters or a number, the text box is
the best option. If, however the input is
restricted, such as in the case with a user
choosing his state of residency, it may be wisher
to use a list box or a series of radio button.
If you want to restrict the user to selecting an
item among answers, a list box is usually the best
choice, especially when the set of acceptable
answers is large.

Check box

Anytime you have multiple related, yes/no

options that can be mixed and matched In any
number of ways, you will want to use a series of
check boxes. Also, anytime you have simple
yes/no type question, such as Do you want to
receive updates on our products via email?, a
check box will do nicely.

Radio button

Whenever you have a set of option that are

mutually exclusive that is only none or one of
the option out of the set of options that can be
selected, radio buttons are the way to go, radio
button can also be used in place of list boxes
when the number of unique options is not too
great.

To create text boxes, check boxes and radio buttons use the
<INPUT> tag. The <INPUT> tag has a number of properties, but we will only
concentrate on the following three:
NAME: The name tag uniquely identifies each element in form. You will use
the NAME tag. When ASP to process the users input.
TYPE : The TYPE tag determines what type of form field is displayed. To
display text box, set TYPE equal to TEXT, to create a checkbox, assign TYPE
equal to CHECKBOX.
VALUE: The VALUE tag determines the default value for the form field.
This property is important when processing the information submitted by list
boxes, check boxes, and radio buttons.

Objects In The ADO object Model

1. Command: - Maintains information about a command, such as a query

string or parameter definitions. Use it to execute a SQL query string on a
connection object.
2. Connection: - Maintains connection information on the data provider (the
database you are accessing).
3. Field: - Contains information form a single column of data in a record set.
Each field object exists as part of the fields collection in a record set.
4. Property: - Defined by the data provider, this is a characteristic of an
ADO.
5. Recordset : - A set of records form a database table or a cursor pointing to
those records. You can set the properties of recordsets so that they are
read-only or updateable to various degrees. If you open a recordset using
the connection object, you can open multiple recordsets on the same data
provider.

About PWS AND IIS

*PWS AND IIS*

Personal Web Server (PWS)

PWS turns any Windows computer into a Web server. PWS is easy to
install and ideal for developing and testing Web applications. PWS has been
optimized for workstation use, but has all the requirements of a full Web
server. It also runs Active Server Pages (ASP) just like its larger brother IIS.
How to Install a Personal Web Server (PWS) ?

Browse your Windows installation to see if you have installed

PWS.
If not, install PWS from the PWS directory on your Windows
CD.
Follow the instructions and get your Personal Web Server up
and running.
Internet Information Server (IIS)

Windows 2000's built-in Web server IIS, makes it easy to build large
applications for the Web. Both PWS and IIS include ASP, a server-side
scripting standard that can be used to create dynamic and interactive Web
applications. IIS is also available for Windows NT.
If you want to read more about ASP, you should study our
A Professional Web Server

If you do not want to use PWS or IIS, you must upload your files to a
public server.
Most Internet Service Providers (ISP's) will offer to host your web
pages.
If your employer has an Internet Server, you can ask him to host your
Web site.

Connectivity with

Database

How to Connect with Database?

Before you can do anything with the database, you need to
connect to it. Think of it like calling someone on the telephone. You cannot
simply pick up the phone and start talking you need to dial the number. Then
the phone company computers make all the correct connection to route your
call to appropriate place. Finally, your friends hears his phone ringing and
pickup. Now you can have your conversation. It similar when working with
databases In ASP. Before you can talk to the database. You need to get a
connection to it.

The connection Object

The connection object is used to hold information about the data

store you want to access. It is create the same way your components have
been, using
Server.CreateObject;
Dim objconn
Set objconn = Server.CreateObject(ADODB.Connection)
There may be times you want connections to several data stores
open at once you might be using multiple access databases, or mixing access,
oracle, SQL, Or whatever. In such cases, you would use multiple instances of
the connection object. Using multiple data sources gets a bit complicated
because different sources have different capabilities. Fortunately, the need for
multiple data sources in single ASP page does not come up all that often.

Using a system DSN

A system DSN is a file that contains information about the
database such as where it and what kind of database source name, creating a
system DSN is easy.
1. Close Access
2. In window 2000, click start; go to settings, control panel, administrative
tools, data sources(ODBC). Or , go to start, administrative tools, data sources.
3. Go to the system DSN tab, there is a listing of the system data sources
currently configured, along the right are three button that allow you to add a
new system DSN, remove the selected one, or change the setting of the
currently selected one.

4. You want to create a new DSN, so click Add.

5. You will see a list of drives, choose Microsoft Access Driver(*.mdb) and
click finish.

6. Now the setup box pops up enter WidgetWorld.dsn for the data sources
name, this is the name you will use to reference the DSN in your ASP Pages.
You may enter a description as well. It should be something to remind you
what this database and DSN are for.
7. Click Select. Now choose the .mdb file for the database. We named it
Widgetworld.mdb.
8. Click ok to select the database. Your screen should look similar click ok
again to finsh creating DSN. You should see the DSN you just created listed
under system data sources.
9. Click OK to exit.
If you are using an earlier version of windows, you can get to ODBC
data sources like this: Click Start, then Settings, And Then the control
Panel.Open Up ODBC data sources.
Now you have a system DSN. You can tell the connection object about it like
this:
Objconn.connectionstring = DSN=WidgetWorld.dsn

About Flash

* Flash *
What is Flash?
The new features in Flash provide enhanced capabilities for creating
artwork, streamlining your workflow, and creating interactivity. Flash also
includes greatly expanded capabilities for creating actions with ActionScript.
See "What's New in ActionScript" in ActionScript Help.

Overview of Flash
Flash movies are graphics and animation for Web sites. They consist
primarily of vector graphics, but they can also contain imported bitmap
graphics and sounds. Flash movies can incorporate interactivity to permit
input from viewers, and you can create nonlinear movies that can interact
with other Web applications. Web designers use Flash to create navigation
controls, animated logos, long-form animations with synchronized sound, and
even complete, sensory-rich Web sites. Flash movies are compact, vector
graphics, so they download rapidly and scale to the viewer's screen size.
You've probably watched and interacted with Flash movies on many
Web sites, including Disney, The Simpsons, and Coca-Cola. Millions of
Web users have received the Flash Player with their computers, browsers, or
system software; others have downloaded it from the Macromedia Web site.
The Flash Player resides on the local computer, where it plays back movies in
browsers or as stand-alone applications. Viewing a Flash movie on the Flash
Player is similar to viewing a videotape on a VCRthe Flash Player is the
device used to display the movies you create in the Flash authoring
application.

Artwork in Flash
Flash provides a variety of methods for creating original artwork and
importing artwork from other applications. You can create objects with the
drawing and painting tools, and modify the attributes of existing objects.
You can also import vector and bitmap graphics from other
applications and modify the imported graphics in Flash.

Animation in Flash
Using Flash, you can animate objects to make them appear to move
across the Stage and/or change their shape, size, color, opacity, rotation, and
other properties. You can create frame-by-frame animation, in which you
create a separate image for each frame. You can also create tweened
animation, in which you create the first and last frames of an animation and
direct Flash to create the frames in between.

Interactive movies in Flash

Flash allows you to create interactive movies, in which your audience
can use the keyboard or the mouse to jump to different parts of a movie, move
objects, enter information in forms, and perform many other operations.
You create interactive movies by setting up actions using ActionScript.
For information on setting up the most common actions, For complete
information on using ActionScript to create advanced interactivity.

Vector graphics
Vector graphics describe images using lines and curves, called
vectors, that also include color and position properties. For example, the image
of a leaf is described by points through which lines pass, creating the shape of
the leaf's outline. The color of the leaf is determined by the color of the outline
and
the
color of
the
area
enclosed
by
the
outline.
When you edit a vector graphic, you modify the properties of the lines
and curves that describe its shape. You can move, resize, reshape, and change
the color of a vector graphic without changing the quality of its appearance.
Vector graphics are resolution-independent, meaning they can be displayed on
output devices of varying resolutions without losing any quality.

Bitmap graphics
Bitmap graphics describe images using colored dots, called pixels,
arranged within a grid. For example, the image of a leaf is described by the
specific location and color value of each pixel in the grid, creating an image
much in the same manner as a mosaic.
When you edit a bitmap graphic, you modify pixels, rather than lines
and curves. Bitmap graphics are resolution-dependent, because the data

describing the image is fixed to a grid of a particular size. Editing a bitmap

graphic can change the quality of its appearance. In particular, resizing a
bitmap graphic can make the edges of the image ragged as pixels are
redistributed within the grid. Displaying a bitmap graphic on an output device
that has a lower resolution than the image itself also degrades the quality of its
appearance

Workflow
New panels for working with color, type, actions, frames, instances, and
entire movies make it easy to access options for modifying elements in Flash
movies
Shared libraries let you link to library items as external assets. You can
create font symbols to include in shared libraries, as well as buttons, graphics,
movie clips, and sounds..
The Macromedia Dashboard provides a way for you to easily keep up
with the latest information on using Flash..
Custom shortcut keys allow you to create your own shortcuts for Flash
commands and functions to customize your workflow..
Support for importing MP3 sound files lets you import sounds into
Flash that are already compressed. This reduces the time required for
publishing and exporting a movie with sound, since you don't have to
compress the sounds during export. Using compressed sounds reduces the file
size of completed movies and reduces memory requirements during
authoring..

Creating artwork
Enhanced color controls, including the Mixer panel, Fill and Stroke
panels, Swatches panel, and Fill and Stroke toolbox controls, provide
expanded capabilities for painting artwork..
New selection highlights make it easy to identify selected lines, fills, and
groups as well as the color of selected objects.
Draggable guides aid you in arranging objects on the Stage..
The Pen tool lets you create precise paths; it works like the Pen tool in
Macromedia FreeHand or Macromedia Fireworks..

About Microsoft Access

* Microsoft Access*
Microsoft Access is a database management system, Or DBMS.
As the name implies, A DBMS helps to manage data thats stored in a
computer database. The data you manage can be virtually anything
includeing:

Name and addresses

Business contects, customers and sales prospects
Employee and personnel information
Inventory
Invoices, payments and bookkeeping
Libraries and collection
Schedules, reservations, and projects

Microsoft Access is tightly integrated with windows and Microsoft office.

Microsoft access 2000 Is a 32-bit application, which means that it
runs in its own protected computer memory area. Therefore, access wont
grind to a half if some other program on your computer decides to misbehave.
Access also takes advanege of appreciate ; the jet database engine. Microsoft
access and modiles written for visual basic all run in separate threads. (On
high-end window NT machines, multithreading allows several CPUs to
cooperate on a single access application at the same time)
Access takes advantage of the windows briefcase feature, which
feature. Which enables into your master databases. Any design changes made
to the master databases also will be propagated to the replicas. Replication is
ideal for manageing remote changes to data and balancing the load over a
network.
The database window in access looks and acts a lot like windows
explorer, as well as windows that appear when you open my computer or net-

work neighborhood. To view database objects as large as icons, small icons, a

list, or a detailed list, choose options on the view menu, or click an empty area
inside the database window and choose view options from the shortcut menu.
To arrage icons by name, type, creation data, or modification date.
Microsoft access supports long file names and uniform naming
convention paths. UNC paths let you refer to files on remote computer by
supplying the computer name, rather than by permanently mapping a drive
letter to the remote computer.
Play and plug screen resolution on the fly. minimize Microsoft
access and any other your programs that are convering the windows desktop
and choose properties.
An access project is a set of database objects that can be used to
work with database stored in table on sql server. A project doesnt it includes
are forms, reports, macros, modules and data access pages. A project can also
include these kinds of sql server objects: views, database diagrams and stored
procedures.
Microsoft Access Provide A Very Easy Way To Create And Handle
Database. Making Validations Are Very Easy. Even Generating Quarries
Using Multiple Tables Is Possible.
Access Differs from Many Other Database Applications by Allowing
you To Create Relational Database. Access Also Provides Many Options For
Working With Other Database Programmes.
Microsoft Access Is A Database Management System Or DBMS. As
The Name Implies, A DBMS Help You To Manage Data Thats Store In A
Computer Database.
Relationship In A Database:-After You Have Set Up Different Tables For Each Subject In Your
Microsoft Access Database You Need A Way Of Telling Microsoft Access How
To Bring That Information Back To Gather Again. The First Step In This
Process Is To Define Relationships Between Your Tables. After You Have Done
That, You Can Create Queries, Forms, and Reports To Display Information
From Several Tables At Once.
Database:-Database Is A Collection Of Tables, Queries, Forms, Data Access
Pages, Reports. A Widely Accepted Definition Of Databases A Collection Of

Data Related To Particular Topic Or Purpose. Database Is A General

Purpose Contain A For Storing And Managing Information.
To Create Database:-Click The General Tab And Select Database.
Select file New from The Main Menu or ctrl+N.
Click Ok. Enter Name of New Database In The File Name Box.
Click Ok. Enter Name of The New Database In the File Name Box.
Click Ok in the File New Database Window.
Database Can Contain Any Combination of Following Type of Objects.
A Table :
Tables are the fundamentals structures in an Access Database because they
store the data you will be managing. Within A table data is organized into
fields (columns) and records (rows). When you open a table, it is shown in
window called Datasheet View.
Query :
A Query is a tool for asking questions about data in your table and for
performing actions on data. Queries can answer questions. Queries can use to
combine or join data from many separate but related table.
Form :
Forms let you display and enter data in a convenient format.
Report :
Reports let you print or preview data in a useful format. Like Forms , Reports
can be plain or fancy. Reports also can present queries result in an easy to
understand format.
More New Features in Access :
Round Tripping.
Multiple undo and redo.
Batch Update in Access project using Microsoft SQL Server.
Updatable On-line data access pages.

Conversion error logging.

Sub Forms / Sub Reports that live in design view.
Password security in an access project .
The linked table wizard.
Improved support for international complex script

*DATA FLOW DIAGRAM*

A Graphical Representation That Depicts Information Flow And
On The Transformation That Are Applied As Data Moves From Input To O/P
IS Known As DFD. The DFD Is Also Known As Bubble Chart. The DFD May
Be Partitioned Information Level That Represent Increasing Information
Flow And Functional Details. The DFD Represent The Entire S/W Elements
As A Single Bubble. The Level DFD Is Partitioned Additional Process Are
Brought Out Of Level More Details.

*NOTATIONS USED IN THE DFD*

It Represent External Entity. It Represent
Source
and Destination Of The System Data.

A Process That Transform Incoming Data To

The
Outgoing Data.

It Represent A Data Item Or A Collection Of

Data Item The Arrow Head Indicates The
Direction Of Data Flow.

It represents data storage.

E-R MODEL

*E-R Model*
The E-R model is Based On The Perception of Real world As a
Collection of Basic Objects Called Entity and the Relationship Among the
Object. An Entity is an Object that exist and different from other object.
* The distinction is accomplete by accosting with each entity.
* A set of attributes, which describe the object.
* A relationship is an association between different entities.
* Entity set or set of all entities of same type is Term as an entity Set.
* The relationship between two entity set can be classify according to the
number of entities from one entity set that can be associated with the no of
entity of another sets.

The distinction is accomplete by accosting with each entity. A set of

attributes, which describe the object, a relationship is an association between
different entities. Entity set or set of all entities of same type is Term as an
entity Set. The relationship between two entity set can be classify according to
the number of entities from one entity set that can be associated with the no of
entity of another sets.

E-R Diagram: In E-R Modeling Relationship between entities can be represented

using symbols. It represents overall logical structure of database

E-R Modeling Relationship Between Entities Can Be Represented
