CAREER FEST
Career Fest 2010, February 1-5, a week of events for USC students centered on topics related to
work, career and the economy engaging the entire university community. Whether you are a
freshman and have not decided your major, a sophomore/junior thinking about internships or a senior
about to graduate we have an event for you! The week will include panels, discussions, workshops and
networking events hosted by departments across the USC campus. For more information and full list of

Federal labor law requires that students participating in an internship must either A) be paid by the
employer; or, B) be enrolled in an internship for-credit course. Do you have an unpaid internship and
need course credit? If so, register for one of USC’s 10+ internship courses. For a full list of internship

PAID INTERNSHIPS
UBS – Summer Analyst Investment Banking, Technology (San Francisco)
Headquartered in Zurich and Basel, Switzerland, UBS is a global firm providing services to private,
corporate and institutional clients. Its strategy is to focus on international wealth management and the
Swiss banking business alongside its global expertise in investment banking and asset management.
Summer Analysts who join UBS Investment Bank are provided with a broad-based investment
banking experience. After a week of orientation and intensive training, Summer Analysts will join the
Global Technology Group in the San Francisco office and begin to actively participate in a variety of
transactions ranging from M&A advisory work to debt and equity offerings. Assignments can be
domestic and cross-border. Analysts will be involved in every aspect of transaction analysis and
execution from start (pitch/marketing) to finish (close/pricing). Summer Analysts will be expected to
conduct research and build technical abilities by using the financial statement analysis, accounting
and valuation techniques taught during the intern training program. The Summer Internship Program
lasts approximately 10 weeks and is targeted to students entering their senior year. In addition to the
experience and education acquired on the job, interns have the opportunity to participate in
educational seminars, and various social and networking events. Candidates must be enrolled in a
four year bachelor’s degree or international equivalent program and have completed their junior year,
