Human rights in 21.

century

We are all aware of fact that the question of human rights lately has
received a great part of attention. Today, violation of human rights is
seriously taken note of by international bodies and leaders of democracy.
Human rights are those rights which are fundamental for living and for
normal human existence. They are based on the concept that every man and
woman regardless of caste, creed, colour, race and nationality is born with
certain fundamental rights such as: right to live, speech, freedom, justice
These rights are, therefore, represented and expressed in the constitution of
the countries. In order, that these basic rights are preserved by the nations
of the world, United Nations Organisation adopted a Charter of human rights
soon after its formation. It gives us some of these basic rights of man. These
are rights to live, liberty and security of person, right to freedom of speech,
judicial remedy, freedom of movement, right to take part in governance of
ones country the second types of rights are economic and social rights.
These are right to work, right to live with dignity, right to rest and leisure,
right to education, equality etc
The problem of human rights is that people and countries have different
understanding of the term and its protection. In some countries political and
civil rights are not given or guaranteed to all its citizens. In some other
countries, economic and social rights are not applied . Therefore, the basic
idea behind stressing human rights is that all governments should try to save
these fundamental rights and see that all types of discrimination in this
respect are completely removed.
Globalization, as we understand it today, has opened many challenges to the
Human Rights scenario of the world. The current world scenario is filled with
differences and layers among many groups, along the lines of religion, caste,
class, political alignment and so on. Growing inequality, rising poverty,
outbreak of epidemics like the HIV, and all these evils have ate away the
very heart and souls of the human civilization of today. Added to all these is
the threat imposed by the terrorist strikes all over the world. The amount of
terrorism has indeed raised concerns and protection of the basic human and
civil rights by many of the states themselves.

Yet, another problem is that of immigration of people, and it must not be

forgotten that refugees are not welcome in many countries around the world.
All these lead to several problematic issues related to the effect of
globalization on human rights and vice versa, all of which need to be
addressed with immediate urgency. These days there are a lot of issues and
problems in the global world, many people suffer from poverty, sickness, and
diesis all over the world. Humanity must be safeguarded in all situations.
Wounded, sick, prisoners, civilians must be respected and protected. Persons
suffering from the effects of war must be helped and cared without
discrimination. Human rights are important issue in this global world to have
a good life and all of us must be familiar with its principles and norms.
We also have issues about children rights. In todays world there are strong
forces working against giving children fair and equal access to a happy,
productive and healthy existence. Few people are able to recognize the big
potential youth hold both for today and for the future. Daily, children all
around the world are forced to work under the conditions of outright slavery.
They are forced to physical, psychological and sexual abuse, into wars as
soldiers or sex slaves and are bought and sold like cattle to be abused even
further.
While Western countries raised the slogan promising new era of globalization
to stop the suffering of the poor, the spread of poverty and destruction of
developing countries economy is all what is happening at the moment. We
also have overpopulation, discrimination, inadequate education and
employment
Today, international human rights law has often not been matched by
practice, yet there is growing agreement for the protection of human rights.
Each of us must provide important benefits in dealing with the past and to
look forward to a better future.
