Problem 1: How often do freshmen college students usually use or be involved in Social

Networking?
Problem 2: Does gender have something to do with the length of time spent on the
internet?

The table above shows the time spent per week of male and female on using social
networking sites. 6 or 30% of the respondents spend their time 1 6 hours per week. The least
amount of percentage is 10% wherein respondents spend their time for 7 12 hours per week.
There are 3 or 15% of the female respondents greatly spend their time for more than 24 hours per
week.
Problem 2: How many among the students have smartphones and how many uses their

phone for Social Networking?

Table 2 shows the devices that respondents prefer to use in social networking. There are
10 of the total respondents prefer smartphones, 6 respondents prefer computer while 4 of the
respondents prefer laptop in social networking.

Problem 5: What are the usual sites that have the students hooked and why?

Of the 20 respondents, 8 males are facebook users, 1 male use twitter site and 1 male use
Instagram. For female, 4 of them are facebook users, 2 are twitter users, 1 pinterest user, 1
instagram user, 1 tumblr user and 1 youtuber.

Problem 4: What are the negative effects of Social Networking to the study habits of
students?

Accurately, the data given above shows both males and females mostly say yes with a
total percentage of 80% while the rest say no with a percentage of 20%. Therefore based on the
results given, most respondents know that Social Networking Sites has negative effects to users
such as them. In addition, according to their stated comments, the most negative effect of the SNS
were procrastination, out of focus on studies, addiction, and temptation.

The bar graph indicates the totality of those male and female who answered yes and no.
Overall, 30% of male and 40% of female for a total of 70% of the total respondents said that they
are aware with the negative effects of the social networking sites and hence female are more
aware of the negative effects of the social networking sites. On the other hand, 20% of male and

10% of female answered no for a total of 30%.

This table shows the results of the male respondents from the questionnaires. In the first
question, majority of the male respondents say that they do not accomplish the tasks given by
their professors on time. In the second question, most males say that they find social networking
helpful to their studies. Based on the third question, 70% of males are tempted to use social
networking sites in the middle of school related tasks. The fourth question clarifies that 90% of
the male respondents are concerned or aware of the possible negative effects that is caused by the
misuse of Social Networking Sites. Lastly, In the fifth question, 90% of the male respondents
keep their account private most of the time.

According to the result of the first item, 7 or 70% of females say that they accomplish
their tasks given by their professors on time. Secondly, 100% of the females fully agree on social
networking sites as a helpful tool to their studies. The third question clearly states that 70% of
the female respondents are tempted to used social networking sites in the middle of school related
tasks. 9 out of 10 females in item 4 are concerned or of the possible negative effects that is caused
by the misuse of social networking sites. Lastly, all female respondents keep their account private
most of the time.
