Lewis now offers a complete line of Fall Arrest Harnesses, Shock Absorbing

jobs on the rig. Our Fall Arrest Harness line is an excellent option for general industry,
as well as oilfield applications.
Lewis still offers our original line of Derrick Belts, and braided Steel Tail Ropes.
Our LSG Snakes are available in the original configuration, or in the new
streamlined LSG-X series.
We manufacture, clean and repair rig-housing canvas. Our field salesmen will
come to you to measure and quote a new set of rig tarps. High Quality PVC coated
nylon canvas will last for years, and is water and oil resistant. We now have CAD
designed canvas, and will have your custom blueprint on file for future reference.
Brake Bands need new blocks, and servicing? Ship them to us, request a pick
up, or drop them by. We will Sandblast, do a Magnaflux inspection, Paint, and
Re-Line at a fair price, and with a quick turnaround. All work performed at our
Oklahoma City Location.

Grips, and Ball Bearing Swivels. Our pulling grips line offers several different
styles for all overhead, and underground applications. If you are making

Our O model series is traditionally used as a splicing grip. However,

now this versatile series is also being used for cable bundling and we
call the grips the Bundle Keeper series. Used in this manner, the Bundle
Keeper model dramatically reduces abrasion and cut hazards to cables
by providing a protective wire mesh barrier. These grips convert unsightly, dangerous loose cabling, which is a major trip hazard, into manageable and safe bundles as in the picture.
Keep in mind that these can also be used on hydraulic and pneumatic lines that may need an extra measure of protection and organization.

The tail enables the user to
easily attach and remove his
life line. Tails can be ordered on
the upper or lower D-rings on

Lewis Derrick Belts are constructed of the best grade woven webbing material that will outwear other
materials, yet is easy to clean and stays pliable under changing climactic conditions. All stitches are
sewn with heavy-duty dacron thread. Copper rivets are placed at all stress points for reinforcement.
Lewis Snap-on type derrick belts provide two ways of release through the snap at front or waist,
adjusting buckle at the side. Strap adjustments may be made without removing belt. All Lewis belts are
of extra strong construction adjusting holes are fitted with brass eyelets and all types of belts are
equipped with drop forged steel fittings.
Lewis Derrick Belts are drop tested and steel fittings are proof load tested from 2,000 to 5,000 pounds
by independent testing laboratories to check the webbing and construction. Certified results prove that
they meet the most exacting specifications of safety engineers.

The purpose of the Lewis Tail Rope is to provide the user a means of work positioning. The Lewis tail
rope is not intended for fall arrest, and / or fall deceleration. The user is required to utilize a deceleration lanyard, (Slo-Stop) or other type of fall deceleration device in addition to our tail rope. (See Photo)
ALWAYS USE THE SHORTEST TAIL ROPE POSSIBLE AND ALWAYS USE A FALL DECELERATION DEVICE. TAIL ROPES AND FALL DECELERATION LANYARDS (Slo-Stop) SHOULD BE
ARRANGED SO MAXIMUM FREE FALL IS 1.8 FEET (0.5 METERS).
NEVER WRAP THE TAIL ROPE OR FALL DECELERATION DEVICE AROUND ANY TYPE OF
STRUCTURE METALLIC OR OTHERWISE TO SHORTEN THE LENGTH OF SAID DEVICE. THIS
CREATES AN ABRASION POINT
AND CREATES UNNECESSARY FALL HAZARDS.

The purpose of the Lewis Slo-Stop Lanyard is to provide the user a means of
FALL DECELERATION. The Slo-Stop Lanyard shall not be used as a work
positioning device.
Prior to each use, inspect the stitches which seal the Slo-Stop mechanism.
(See Photo) If any of these stitches are torn or missing, immediately remove the
Slo-Stop from service and replace with a new unit prior to performing any work.
Prior to each use, the user must inspect all stitching and webbing of the Slo-Stop
in question. Any fraying, missing or torn stitches tears or abrasions of the webbing or exposure of the wear indicator shall indicate a need for immediate
replacement. Do not expose any Lewis Slo-Stop lanyard to any heat source, as
this can damage the webbing and create a fall hazard.

2 yellow nylon webbing, 2 D-ring on one end and 3 D-ring on the other.
Available in 2, 3, 4 and 6 lengths. For use with all fall protection lanyards.

The Lanyard Anchor provides a place to tie-off. DO NOT tie off around sharp or
jagged surfaces. Make sure the surface that you are tying off to is clean and free
of chemicals, sharp metal edges, welds, burrs or any other potential wear hazard.
Always inspect the Lanyard Anchor prior to each use. A worn or damaged
Lanyard Anchor should be removed from service immediately and replaced.

The Extension Tail is for use with a safety belt. It enables the user to snap in
and out more quickly. Always inspect the Extension Tail prior to each use. A
worn or damaged Extension Tail should be removed from service immediately

The purpose of the Lewis Retractable Lanyard line is to provide the user a
means of WORK POSITIONING. The Lewis Retractable Lanyard, either in
the single or dual configuration shall not be used as a fall deceleration or fall
arrest device. The user is required to utilize a deceleration lanyard (Slo-Stop)
or other type of fall deceleration device in addition to our Retractable
Lanyard. (See Photo)
Prior to each use, the user must inspect all stitching and webbing of the
Lanyard in question. Any fraying, missing or torn stitches, tears or abrasions
of the webbing, or exposure of the wear indicator, shall indicate a need for
immediate replacement. Do not expose any Lewis Lanyard to any heat
source as this could damage the webbing and create a fall hazard.

MB have been tested and meet or exceed requirements outlined in ANSI
10.14 (1991).
Lewis Manufacturing does not assume any liabilities for accident or

Inspect Lewis Safety Belts and Tail Ropes twice yearly. Record inspection dates on tags attached to safety belts, lanyards and tail ropes.

The LSG-X series performs the same function as the standard LSG series. The LSG-X cannot be taken apart in the
middle, it is permanently attached via our new Swivel Tube
Assembly.
This swivel tube assembly is a low profile heavy-duty friction swivel. This snake is for the customer who does not need
to separate the two pulling grip elements and who prefers a
very low profile swivel. The swivel is permanently greased and
has the size range and working load clearly stenciled on the
swivel tube assembly.

Model J-020 MediumHeavy Duty

Used to tie down ends of pulling grips and splicing grips

for added security. Use a BAND-IT tool and bands instead
of tape. Taping is not reliable and can be a safety hazard
especially in overhead high tension pulling applications.
Also in many cases splicing grips are permanently installed
and in these instances taping just wont last and can be
dangerous.
Invest in a BAND-IT tool and rest assured your cable will
stay in place. Please follow instructions provided with the
BAND-IT tool to ensure proper clamping.
The Thriftool requires a 1/2 socket or wrench, small hammer and cutting pliers while the Pok-it II requires only a
small hammer. Both are easy to operate.
For the Pok-It II tool:

Note: For extra strength,

double-wrapping band is
recommended.
When the band is tight, flip the
Pok-It II tool over the buckle.

2. Be sure that the right size range grips being used for the line or rope being pulled. For example, for 13/8 drilling line,
use the LSG 1 - 11/2 snake. When pulling a larger line with a smaller line (replacing the smaller with the larger), make
sure the smaller line has the correct size grip and that the new larger diameter line has the correct size grip as well.
LSG snakes are available with any required size range on either side.

4. When loading the cable into the grip, be certain the cable is inserted all the way into the grip until the grip is fully
loaded (into the plastic boot area below the pulling eye of the grip). Also examine both grips for cable abrasion or broken cables. An LSG snake showing any signs of cable fraying, broken cables or distorted hardware should be immediately discarded and replaced. Inspect the LSG Snake Grip prior to each use.
5. Once the snake is loaded properly, the tail end of the grip should be clamped using a Bandit brand banding device.

bracket failure should be removed from service and replaced
with a new unit.
