ACHE significa dor contnua e localizada, mas no intensa:

I have an ache in the back.

Tenho uma dor nas costas.

Sinto uma dor ligeira atrs da cabea.

ALONE significa sozinho (sem mais ningum):

Ele normalmente vai ao cinema sozinho.

LONELY significa s (no sentido de solido, tristeza):

I feel so lonely. I don't have anybody to talk to.

He has been very lonely since his wife died.

Ele tem estado muito s desde que a sua esposa faleceu.

He lives in an isolated house and feels very lonely most of the times.

Alternately, Alternatively

ALTERNATELY significa alternadamente, ora um ora outro:

The weather has been alternately hot and cold.

O tempo tem estado alternadamente calor e frio.

The film is alternately sad and amusing.

O filme alternadamente triste e divertido.

ALTERNATIVELY significa alternativamente, em vez disso, como alternativa:

You can go by train, or alternatively go by bus.

Podes ir de comboio ou, em vez disso, ir de autocarro.

You can pay a fine of 500 euros right now, or alternatively spend two
months in jail.
O senhor pode j pagar a multa de 500 euros ou, em alternativa, passar
