Archetypes in the World

In Greek Mythology

War with Kronos

Kronos, fearing to be dethroned by his children, swallows
them all whole upon their birth. Zeus, however, is saved by
his mother, Rhea. He grew to maturity on crete and forced
his father throw up his siblings. He declares war on his
father and the titans. They fight for years with no one
gaining any ground. Zeus released the Cyclopes and the
Hecatonchires, who help the olympians win the war. Later
the Hecatonchires are sent to guard Tartaros so the titans,
which were imprisoned there, could not escape.

War with Gigantes

The Gigantes were a tribe of 100 giants and some of the
children of Gaia. Gaia convinced them to wage war with the
olympian gods after her other children, the titans, were
imprisoned in Tartarus. They were quickly killed by the new
Gods but only with the help of Hercules. Some say their
blood formed the primitive northern tribes of Thrake.

In Norse Mythology

The Creation
Odin, Vili, and V, three brothers, killed a giant, Ymir, using
different parts of his corpse to make different parts of the
worlds. They then placed a dwarf at every corner of the
Earth and naming them North, South, East, and West. The
brothers also created separate worlds for the elves, dwarfs
and spirits.

The Aesir-Vanir War

Freya, a Vanir, came to Asgard and practiced her magic of
changing destiny. The Aesir realized they were pushing
aside their most important virtues to have Freya change
their destiny. Odin, Vili, and V convinced the rest of the
Aesir to help them murder Freya, as they blamed her for
their shortcomings. The two groups went to war and
eventually created a treaty. Some of the Aesir were sent to
live with the Vanir but one was killed for giving bad advice.
Instead of restarting the war they created the wisest being
in the cosmos.

In Modern Mythology

Star Wars
In Star Wars The Clone Wars the Republic, the
democratic ones, has to work together in order to fight the
Separatist, the communist, threat. They are able to do so
until they are betrayed by their own clone army. Then the
leaders are killed or forced into hiding.

Star Wars
Later in A New Hope the leaders that are still alive help
lead and train an army to fight the new communist Empire
they call this new army the rebel alliance. They fight and
overthrow the Empire to restore democratic rule to the
universe.
