My fellow classmates, in todays society we see the police protecting us from many
problems and keep us out of problems. For those officers that do their duty each and
everyday and follow the code of an officer and arent corrupt, I respect you. Those officers
that think they are the law, that they can control us and think they can do anything they want
to citizens, you disgust me. From homeless to high class, from poor to rich, from born to dead,
people should always be respected by the police and shouldnt be harassed or hit if they did
no harm.

We dare not forget when we first gained independence from Britain and became
independent of ourselves. We are now passed that and are now setting the path for the next
generation of children to come in to the world. Do you want them to be harassed by corrupt
cops or do you want them to feel safe around the police and say that the police are protecting
them? Officers are what keep this place we call home safe, and if they turn corrupt, who will
keep us safe from the violence in the streets of dangerous neighborhoods?

This much I say and more.

To those corrupt officers that are currently on duty, i pledge to all of you that all of you

will be brought to justice and will be taught how a real officer protects his country. Ted Arboleda,
a corrupt officer that used to be on duty in Florida. Ted was a corrupt officer that at
one timeaccepted oral sex from a woman in exchange for not arresting her(huffington post).
Ted Could've just gave her a ticket, but instead he took a corrupt angle to the situation and
accepted sexual interactions instead of giving the woman a ticket. Would you like Ted around
your family or even in your own neighborhood? Ted is now on probation with no pay, maybe
that will teach him a lesson to be a good cop for the country.

Police officers like Ted still roam the country today and arent discovered of their
actions until a citizen decides they are having enough and wants justice to be brought to
these corrupt officers. To those officers that decide to break the law and start to believe they
are the law, how do you sleep at night?

We dare not do anything to these officers because the justice system usually works in
their favor because the government works that way, even if all the evidence is there that the
officer is guilty. If our country cant help the corrupt, it cant help the incorruptible.

Officers such as Robert Gisevius, Kenneth Bowen, and Anthony Villavaso were all
corrupt officers during the horrific Hurricane Katrina. During Hurricane Katrina, all three of
these officers were charged with first degree murder for killing seventeen year old James
Brissette who was innocent and unarmed during Hurricane Katrina on the Danzinger
bridge(newsone). These types of instances happen all the time and can be prevented if we
take all the corrupt officers off the streets. Will you be one of many to stop this corruption from

happening in your neighborhood?

Fellow citizens say that police officers are incorruptible and never make mistakes, but
when your innocent child gets killed, when you are arrested for no reason, when your rights
are taken from you, when you are able to bribe your way out of a situation, when you are able
to offer sexual interactions to a police officer, when you are given a ticket for a reason that
isnt against the law, then you know that police can be corrupt and think of themselves as
more powerful than us.

Fellow classmates dont ask what the police can do for you, but how you can help and
save those police officers in need of help. Let us never fear to talk back to the police. But talk
back to the police to help them. The police are here to help us and make sure we stay safe
every day. Sometimes the police believe they can do anything that they want to because they
have a badge and they think that they puts them far above us. Yet we are all the same inside,
but sometimes the power goes to peoples heads and they become corrupt. Police just need
to be taught that they are like us and that they dont have that much more power compared to
us in society.

Finally, whether you are white, black, hispanic, asian, or any race that you are,
everyone should be treated the same way and no one should fall under the consequences of
police corruption and we all must prevent it, one step at a time
