DC GEARED MOTOR:

DC GEARED MOTORThe stator

coils of DC GEARED MOTOR are
energized
by
electronically
switched current. DC GEARED
MOTOR
It can be directly
controlled
by
computers,
microprocessors
and
programmable controllers. DC
GEARED motors are specially
suited for situation
.
DC GEARED
motors develop torque ranging
from 1micro N-m up to 40 N-m in
a motor of 15c.m.dia suitable for
machine tool application. There
power output ranges from about
1watt to a maximum of 2500
watt. The rotor of the DC GEARED
MOTOR has winding, commutator

or brushes; this feature makes

the motor quite robust and
reliable. motor

The
GM9
is
much like the GM3 gear motor
but runs at nearly twice the
speed. This motor goes 66RPM at
5V, drawing 670mA at stall
generating 43 in*oz torque (free
running at 73.2mA).
With a 7mm double-flat output
shaft (there is no output on the
other
side), and a
built-in
clutch and built-in
mounting
screw holes, you can see why we

like
these
motors!
These units have an overall size
of 70.5mm (2.78") x 27mm
(1.06") x 23mm (0.906") thick.

NOTE: These motors have shorter

output shafts for this reason we
do not include the small plastic
mounting wheel as it tends not to
fit as well on the shorter output
shaft.

This 143:1 gearmotor (gearbox

with brushed DC motor) is a
faster
version
of
the GM3
gearmotor. It is a great low-cost
alternative to modified hobby
servos or Tamiya gearboxes. The
low-current motor is a perfect
match for our qik 2s9v1 dual
serial motor controller , and the
compact size makes this unit an
attractive choice for small robot
designs.
This gearmotor comes pre-assembled, with the gears fully enclosed. There
are built-in mounting holes, and the output shaft is 7 mm in diameter with
two sides flattened. Please note that the output shaft is slightly shorter

than on the GM2 and GM3 gearmotors. This motor also comes with a builtin safety clutch.

Compatible products include a

custom-molded GMPW
plastic
wheel, and the Solarbotics GMW
motor mount, which can be used
as a wheel itself or as a mounting
point
for
other
wheels
or
mechanisms.
A mounting
bracket is not required but can be
purchased separately for more
versatile installation.

To increase the power of this
gearbox, you can replace the
motor with a higher-power RM2

with GMPW and GMW plastic
wheels.
GM9 - Gear Motors are compatible
with

Solarbotics
Wheel
Watcher Rotation Encoder. Use it if
you need to control a robot for
dead reckoning, tracking odometry
(distance traveled), stalled motor,
or closing the feedback loop for
position/velocity/acceleration.
