About MNIT
Malaviya National Institute of Technology was
established as a joint venture of the Government of
India and the Government of Rajasthan in 1963 as
Malaviya Regional Engineering College (MREC).
Spread over 312 acres of lush greenery, the
campus of MNIT enthralls and inspires. The
Institute is fully funded by MHRD, the
Government of India, New Delhi.
The institute offers four-year undergraduate
courses of study leading to the B.Tech. degree and
a five-year undergraduate course leading to the
B.Arch. degree and post graduate courses as
M.Tech./M.Sc./MBA & Ph.D. to about 4500
students in almost all leading fields of engineering,
technology, management, humanities and sciences.
About the Department
The Department of Management Studies was
started in the year 1996 as a Center of
Management Studies and Industrial Collaboration
under self-finance scheme. Since then, DMS has
been playing a seminal role in the growth of
corporate sector and management education in
India. We groom future business leaders by
following a judicious blend of theory and practice,
using highly innovative teaching pedagogy. The
Department offers flagship MBA and Doctoral
programs.
About The Indian Econometric Society
The Indian Econometric Society (TIES) is a
registered society under Public Societies
Registration Act, formed in 1960. It is one of the
oldest and largest body of professional
econometricians and quantitative economists with
more than 2000 members from all over India and
abroad. It aims to provide a forum for economists,
mathematicians and statisticians of India and
abroad to promote development of econometric
methodology and techniques.

Introduction
Econometrics has a lot of application for
managerial, industrial and policy research. No
socio-economic,
industrial
or
even
engineering/medical research can progress without
empirical analysis and quantitative techniques.
Thus, this course would help the participants to
upgrade their academic and research activities.
The workshop will be organised with the main
purpose of training young researchers and teachers
to gain exposure to applied econometrics,
computer applications and empirical analysis.
