FLIER
Description:

Black and White promotional flier to promote a graduate


leadership conference.

Objectives:

Apply the design principles and use appropiate typography.


Incorporate basic InDesign skills to improve basic flier layout.
Creatae a project folder with image, logo and InDesign
document to keep links intact.

Process:

The processfor this flier started by sketching some layouts and


choosing the best one. Then, I proceeded to create the black
background for the title on the left hand side of the page. I then
created more text boxes for my title, the picture and my body
copy to the right, leaving a whit space in the middle, giving
the paper a more professional look. Lastly, I made sure all the
boxes were in the margins and added the companys logo on
the bottom right.

EVENT AD
Description:

A color full-bleed event ad to promote a fundraiser using only


Microsoft Word and scanner.

Objectives:

Find, scan and import a high-quality image.


Create full-bleed design.
Use text boxes for layout in Word.
Insert and edit images in Word.

Process:

I found a picture in a magazine and I scanned it into Word,


then I started to crop the image as the size I wanted. I added
color to the pafe and I worked inserting text boxes to all the
body copy. I matched the color of the image to the page. I
saved the ad in PDF, printed it off and then converted the PDF
into JPEG.

LOGOS
Description:

Three logo variations for the same company.

Objectives:

Createa a variety of logos to fit a company or personal image


Use the basic tools of Illustrator.

Process:

For all these logos, I used Abode Illustrator. Because I have


never used this proogram before, I had to learn a new set of
skills. I used the pencil tool to design all of thee shapes.

STATIONERY/
BUSINESS CARD
Description:

Matching stationery and business card designed using a


personally created logo.

Use logo to fit a company or personal image.


Design consistent layouts for a business card and stationery.
Use the basic tools of Illustrator and InDesign.

Process:

For this project I decided to use Adobe Illustrator. I placed


the logo and then I typed my contact information into a tex
box and positioned it. I added the pink lines to make it more
coloful but still professional.

BROCHURE

Set up and align a two-sided, folded document.


Learn how to wrap text around an image.

Process:

For this project I used Illustrator to create the logo, I also used
InDesign to the brochure itself and I used Photoshop to edit
the images.

MONTAGE
Description:

An inspirational montage made by the blending of two or


more images, and use of typography.

Learn to manage Photoshop layers.


Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.
Use filters.
Apply appropriate typography.

Process:

I created it in adobe Photoshop. This montage features three


different pictures. I edited them with the Level and Sharpener
tools. I added different masks to keep the transformations. I
added the typography and I added the tool of Bevel and Emboss to the main words.

PHOTODESIGN
Description:

To demonstrate good photography and image editing skills by


incorporating color into a poster layout with original photo.

Objectives:

Learn basic photography skills.


Use digital camera to take a quality image, the download it.
Size and crop the image.
Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels.
Use selection tool to isiolate a portion of the image.

Process:

I first planned a color scheme I first planned a color scheme


from the color wheel. After that, I started taking pictures with
good light, focus and
compositions. I chose one picture and I opened it into Photoshop and I edited it with the assigned techniques.

WEB PAGE
Description:

A web page designed to showcase a personally created logo.

Objectives:

Size and optimize logo as a .png for the web page.


Write content to describe the process of creating logo and how
it appeals to a target audience.
Design a web oage using HTML to display a logo and content.
Acquire a working knowledge og HTML and basic undestanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple title in a zipped folder to attach as one file.

Process:

Some of the tools I used to create this web page was


TextWrangler and Photoshop. First, I started with the usual coding for HTML to create a simple page. I validated the
HTML page to make sure it worked and then, I started working on the CSS. I edited the style of the web page and I also
made sure the CSS worked by validating it.
