Eugenes wins Best

Pizza in Montana

Pretty in Pink

With a pink Easter Dress adorned with Easter Bunnies and Butterflies,
this bonnie lass was one of hundreds of kids showing up for the
annual Kiwanis Club Easter Egg Hunt at Hoyt Park on Saturday.

After three rounds of voting, over 10,000

votes cast, and lots of pizza debate, the Montana
Mint named Eugenes Pizza of Glasgow as the
2015 Montana Pizza Champion. Montanans
have voted over the past three weeks for their
favorite pizza shops in a March Madness style
bracket.
The owners of the Montana Mint said,
Through our website we connect with
Montanans all over the map. One thing that
became clear over the past year is there was no
consensus on the best pizza in the state. The
2015 Montana Pizza Championship bracket
aimed to give us some answers.
Statewide radio personality Aaron Flint
has been regularly plugging the pizza contest on
his morning show, Voices of Montana. Upon
hearing the news of Eugenes victory, Flint said,
I think its pretty clear the Hi Line is the real
winner here. Three of the top four came from
Highway 2 destinations. Ill never forget growing
up as a kid seeing Arlie Knodel throwing the
pizza dough up to the ceiling. Eugenes Pizza has
the taste, the ambience, and the community.
Eugenes, which was seeded #3 in the
Pepperoni Division, captured 48 percent of the
vote in the Final Four round of the Montana
Pizza Championship Bracket. Eugenes fended
off stiff competition from Nalivkas out of
Havre (34 percent), Howards of Great Falls (11
percent), and Me Too Pizza out of Culbertson
(7 percent).

Volunteers are the heart of Valley County 4-H, and
we salute the many volunteers who give of themselves to
benefit our area youth.
National Volunteer Week (April 12-18) is about
inspiring, recognizing and encouraging people to seek
out imaginative ways to engage in their communities,
said Valley County 4-H Agent Roubie Younkin.
Its about demonstrating that by working together,
communities have the ability to meet challenges and
accomplish goals.
The Points of Light Foundation sponsors National
Volunteer Week, and the 2015 theme, Celebrate Service,
aligns with the focus of Montana 4-H Volunteers who are
engaged in taking action and encouraging 4-H members
to provide service to others and their community.
National Volunteer Week encourages people to be
engaged in their community. 4-H volunteers are actively
engaged in their communities by impacting the lives
of Valley County youth, sharing time and talents with
youth through 4-H clubs, Special Interest clubs, afterschool programs and camps, Younkin said.

Letter to the Buzz

Dont write clear?

I wasnt going to write for awhile or about the latest NVCCA
meeting, but some Glasgow BUZZ readers and a St. Marie
gentleman said that I dont write clearly! I said that I at times
use slang and I told the St. Marie gentleman that Mark Twain
said if ya spell the words the same way all the time, you aint
creative! But Ol Jake and Doc said Its them abbreviations.
Me and other folks in Glasgow dont know what they stand for
says Jaker. So Ill write them down and folks can pin um up on
the wall to look at when they read my stuff. Here they are:
1. SMCA- St. Marie Condo Association- 234 unit owners
2. VPLT- Valley Park Liquidating Trust- Parks bankruptcy
3. NVCCA- North Valley County Condo Association- 106 members
4. SMDC- St. Marie Development Association- Pat Kelly
5. GTMS- Glacier Trail Management Services- Marv Bethea
6. EMS TRUST- Marv Bethea
7. DTM LLC- Merrill and Diana Frantz
8. NSM- New St. Marie- Mike Mitchell (from Missoula)

These are all the entities currently suing and counter suing
eachother in 11 open lawsuits filed. They pertain mainly to
clearing up St. Marie property titles, contract disputes, judgments,
and who knows what all else. Hell fire, the onlyest ones that are
the most important to all St. Marie condo owners are the ones
trying to get good clean legal titles for ALL owners. Then banks
will readily loan on St. Marie condo units...supposedly. If and
when all this mess is sorted out in Court leading to good, clean,
insurable titles - it will be a good day for St. Marie.

COMMENT and OPINION- After attending and listening
to everything at the last NVCCA meeting, I retracted my offer to
serve on the board. I wanted to insure honesty, ethics, and equity
in all board actions. Bethea didnt want me on the Board anyhow,
so it was by mutual agreement in the end. Someone once said that
theres money to be made in Bankruptcy, well he aint gonna get
away with it again! 25 years of various schemes is enough!!!

opinions certainly welcomed*

OBITUARY
Arnie Wingenbach
Arnold E Wingenbach, 61,
Glasgow MT passed away peacefully
with his family and friends by his
side on March 28, 2015 at Riverstone
Hospice in Billings MT.
Mass of Christian Burial was
held at 10:00 am CDT on Tuesday,
April 7, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Mandan ND with Rev.
Shane Campbell as celebrant and
Deacon Bob Wingenbach assisting.
Burial was at Mandan Union
Cemetery.

A Celebration of life will be held
in Glasgow on Sunday, April 12th,
2015 at El Cor Del Lanes at 2pm.
Arnie was born on October
16, 1953 to Edwin and Cordella
(Gustin) Wingenbach in Bismarck

his life Karen Hoffman on August
25, 1978 in Bismarck. They were

They raised four strong, beautiful

This ultimately led to him having
four fantastic son in laws and ten
wonderful grandchildren. Arnie
worked with the BNSF railroad for
35 years as an Engineer. He will be
remembered every time we hear
that whistle blow.
Arnie was a loving husband,

proud of his family and would share
stories of how great they are. One
thing he liked to say while raising his

a word means, look it up! He had
a great sense of humor and would
tell his friends and family Im the
fun one and dont hate me because
Im pretty! Arnie had a passion to
live life to its fullest. He was an avid
fisherman, hunter, and loved to
camp at Fort Peck Lake. Arnie also
liked to sing and dance to any good
song. He enjoyed taking his lovely
wife Karen for a ride on their Harley.
While on the Harley he would speed
and slide in, put the kickstand down
and say, whooooo wheeee, what
a ride. One thing he wanted to let
everyone know, was that he loved
to have a good time with all of you
that knew him. This includes friends
and family while growing up, to his
neighbors that are thought of as his
family. You have all made his short
life of 61 years a special one.

Arnie will be deeply missed.

GHS students excel in Academic Olympics

Glasgow High School recently
hosted the annual High School Academic
Olympics. 25 teams from Class A, Class
B and Class C schools from around the
region descended on GHS to pit their
brainiest students against each other.
Glasgow had two teams competing.
The Red team was comprised of Tanner
Overby, Luke Breigenzer, Trevor Toavs, Amy
Breigenzer, and Kerry Hoffman. The White
team consisted of Jesi Kennedy, Rachel
Sigmundstad, Kevin Schindler, Logan
Gunderson, and Sam Schultz. The GHS
teams are coached by Kimberley Girard.
Linda Hudyma is the site coordinator for
Academic Olympics in Glasgow.

In the oral competition, both Glasgow
teams won their first round matches. The
Glasgow Red team went on take 2nd place,
just two questions behind an always tough
Glendive team.
In the written competition, ribbons
were awarded for the top 10 places.
Glasgow teams had several honorees.

Kerry Hoffman earned 8th in Math. Luke

Breigenzer earned 4th in Math, 10th in
Social Studies, and a medal for top overall
sophomore. Sam Schultz earned 7th in
Science and 8th in Social Studies. Amy
Breigenzer placed in all four events: 8th
in Math, 8th in Social Studies (a tie with
Sam), 6th in English, and 5th in Science.

Several members of both teams missed
receiving those ribbons by only one or two
questions. Based on the strength of all team
members, the Glasgow White team placed
6th (2nd of the class B schools) and the Red
team placed 1st overall, earning a trophy!

Middle School students will get their
chance to compete in Academic Olympics
on Wednesday, April 15 when 26 teams
will be in Glasgow for the event. Glasgow
will have two teams competing that day.
The Middle School teams are coached by
Heather Zeller.
The public is welcome to attend the
oral rounds of competition at 12:30 p.m. in
the GHS Auditorium.
