Prom is next weekend 4/18 at the Grand Sierra


Resort and casino 8-11pm! The theme is a masquerade and
we do have specific details regarding the masks that are allowed to be worn
that evening (Eye masks only, no full face masks). Those details are found on
the prom poster posted throughout the school. It should be really fun and we
really hope all our students are safe and respectful. Masks will be taken off
during check-in and a breathalyzer will be present. Here are the details:
Tickets will be on sale 3/23-3/27 and 4/13-4/17 at lunch and
after school in R5
Tickets are $25 for singles and $45 for couples
Juniors and Seniors can purchase tickets and they must
have a valid student ID with them when they purchase
*Guest passes are due to Mr. Chubb for approval no later than Thursday
4/16/2015 at 3pm. Guest passes must be signed by an administrator from
their school for approval.

Congratulations to our Scholastic Art Winners!

Dale Aguilar, Amber Aramini, Josh Berti, Jennifer Damke, Emily Jiang, Chloe Jones, Julia Kim, Nicholas Martin,
Darby Olsen, Tucker Rush (National Award Medalist), Tyler Rock, Kelsey Rolling, Isabella Santiago, Alyza Ventura
and Lydia Ziolkowski. Many of these students took home multiple awards. We thank our Fine Art Department
of Mrs. Gandolfo, Mrs. Hasperis and Mrs. Moore for their inspiration!
ADVANCED RENO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ARTWORK WILL BE HANGING IN THE NEVADA STATE LEGISLATURE APRIL
THROUGH THE END OF MAY.
We have three Student Thespians who will be going to State competition to compete for college

scholarships.
Beau LaBranch, Grace Brown and Haley Woods
Each of these students achieved superior rating in their performance Monologues at regionals and are going to
State in Las Vegas March 19-22 to qualify for Nationals.
*We would also like to send a shout out to the cast of The Music Man, which was an amazing production. Great job
students, Mrs. Neace, her support staff and the Mom and Dad squad for feeding and supporting our students during
those long practices!

Congratulations to Mrs. Sue Rodriguez- nominated for the ACTE Region V Counselor of the Year!
Congratulations to Alysse McMillen for setting a meet record in the pole vault clearing 12 ft 6 in. at
the Reed Rotary Invitational!
Congratulation to our 2014-2015 JROTC Huskie Battalion for passing their annual inspections with
flying colors!

Senior Government Service Hours:


Reminder to all seniors that they should be working on and completing their second semester government service
hours. Make sure students are communicating with their teachers on requirements.

REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR 2015-2016
If you are interested in paying your fees by phone, please contact our bookkeeper Barbara Herman at 333-5050
Option #3 beginning May 1st. If you are interested in paying online, please visit our website at www.rhshuskies.com
and click on the RStore icon
STEP 1
Course requests are returned to counselors at Reno High.
Current students did this during February and March and incoming 9th grade students did this on March 24
STEP 2
Parents must complete the online forms through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal -must use parent access not
student access.
The online forms must be completed by April 24th.
STEP 3
Parents are mailed a fee form (bright yellow) during the first week of May.
Beginning May 1, fees can be paid online, by phone, by mail or in person. This must be done no later than June 19th.
STEP 4
If all of the above steps have been completed, students will receive their ID pictures, schedules and class fees
information approximately two weeks before the start of school on August 10.

(Friday), immediately after school in the cafeteria.
Students must show photo ID.
Students who did not pick up books during
distribution may go to the Finance Office 7:15-7:40,
during lunch, and 2:30-3:00 Tuesday-Friday May 2629. Students must show photo ID.
Make sure students check the list of We already
bought the book posted at the Mirror and the
Finance Office to ensure they pick up their books in
a timely fashion.
Students may purchase yearbooks on or after the
distribution date on a first-come, first-served basis, if
there are additional copies available for purchase.
These copies will cost $105 cash, credit card, or
money order (no checks). There may not be many
extra books available for sale.
Time is of the essence, storage space is at a premium: If a student does
not pick up his/her yearbook by 3:00 p.m. on the last regular school day
before exams (June 5, 2015), it will be sold as a fundraiser for Re-Wa-Ne,
and no refund nor credit will be due to the student or his/her parents. We
simply do not have enough storage space to keep copies of these books
after that date.

PARENTS of the CLASS of 2016:


Gather those precious childhood photos now and
start composing your message to get the best pricing
on next years Diapers to Diplomas spaces. Early
purchase period begins August 10 (the first day of
school) and ends August 28 at 3:00 p.m. Regular
pricing begins August 31 and ends October 2 at 3:00
p.m. Late pricing (if spaces are still available) begins
October 5 and ends October 23 at 3:00 p.m. We will
have parent submission nights August 19
(Wednesday) and September 17 (Thursday) from
5:00-8:00 p.m. Come in and get everything taken care
of at once.

Library Reminders:
Make sure you get your books turned back
in to the library and take care of any fees
you may have before finals please.

My name is Fabiola Doyle. I am
originally from Mxico. I graduated
from Purdue University Calumet with
a degree in Public Relations. There, I
worked as a peer counselor. After
graduation, I worked for
UNIVISION, the Spanish TV
station in Chicago, in lieu of my
masters degree. I also worked as a
teacher for two elite language
institutions: Linguatechnics and
Berlitz Language Center.
As the Reno High Schools Parent
Involvement Facilitator, I enjoy
meeting parents and hoping that
together we can achieve successful
students at RHS!
