The name Darjeeling comes from the Tibetan words


for thunderbolt, dorje, and land, ling. This tea shows
off the brisk, nutty, full-bodied flavor characteristics for
which Darjeeling teas are renowned.

Ceremonial matcha is milled from tender, deep green


tencha leaves for a luxurious taste. Matcha has been
used by Zen Buddhists since the 12th century for
mental focus and clarity during meditation.

Formosa Assam

Assam tea bushes were first brought to Taiwan by the


Japanese during their occupation of Taiwan. This clean,
full-bodied black tea has no noticeable astringency and
makes for a perfect morning tradition.

Golden Buds

Dragonwell is the most widely produced tea in


China. This tea has an unmistakable aroma of boiled
chestnuts. The subtle vegetal flavors and satisfying
taste make this the perfect everyday green tea.

Dragonwell Supreme

The Yunnan Province in China is home to 244 wild


species of tea. Tender buds grown on this fertile soil
were gently oxidized to produce a sweet, full-bodied
black tea with undertones of pepper and mushroom.

The Yunnan province in China is famous for robust


black teas, and this one is no exception. The flavor is
full-bodied, woody, and slightly smoky. Gong fu makes

leaves grown at a tea garden 1,600-meters above sea

Genmai, Japanese for toasted rice, is combined with


a subtle green tea to create genmaicha. The flavor is
smooth and hearty, with heavy undertones of freshly
toasted bread.

Gyokuro (Jade Dew)

Gyokuro, also known as jade dew, is made from tea


leaves that have been carefully shaded 3 weeks prior
to harvest. The resulting tea is pure and sweet, with
flavors of spinach and fresh cut grass.

This unique black tea is gently smoked in bamboo


trays over a pinewood fire. The resulting tea has a
persistent, yet comforting smoke flavor and a unique
savory quality that is reminiscent of smoked meat.

resulting from decades of research. This unique black

Renowned for beautiful sunrises, Alishan is even more


famous for its exquisite high mountain teas. The citrusy,
refreshing flavor shows hints of papaya and pineapple,
and the finish is long and floral.

This oolong undergoes a long, careful dark roast and is


finished with just a touch of ginseng extract. The result
is a comforting tea with a supremely sweet and longlasting aftertaste. Truly fit for a king.

This bao zhong is a very lightly oxidized oolong from


the lush hillsides surrounding Taipei City. The twisted,
vibrant green leaves give way to a crisp, sweet taste
and an elegant, floral finish.

Orchards abound on Li Shan, producing wonderfullysucculent peaches and pears. Farmers later discovered
that their soil also yields a luxurious oolong with the
same luscious, buttery and rich taste.

Legend has it that of all the medicine in China, it was


this soothing tea that revived an emperors bed-ridden
daughter. The rocky cliffs of Mt. Wuyi give this smooth,
smoky tea a refreshing minerality.

To create this unique dark oolong, leafhopper bugs are


purposely allowed to feed on the tea leaves, causing
them to dwarfen. The result is a tea with a fruity aroma,

Centuries ago, a Taiwanese scholar named Mr. Lin


planted the first high mountain tea bushes on Frozen
Peak Mountain. This timeless oolong is sweet and
fresh, with a superb long finish.

The Shan Lin Xi mountain range is covered by a


remarkably thick, fluffy white fog. These conditions
yield a tea with a round, velvety mouthfeel, and
prominent tropical flavors of coconut and pineapple.

Golden lily is a tea cultivar whose soft, creamy


mouthfeel and flavor have earned it the name of milk
oolong. This smooth, relaxing tea is a wonderful
introduction to high mountain oolongs.

A traditional dark roasted Tie Guan Yin oolong, this


tea starts off dark and smoky, and ends with a peachy,
subtly acidic finish. At Asha, we call this the chameleon
of teas.

Golden osmanthus is a tea cultivar prized for its inviting


aroma, reminiscent of magnolia and gardenia flowers.
A slight hint of cinnamon spice rounds out this aromatic
and sweet oolong.

Often called old man tea, this is a quintessential dark


roast oolong custom-roasted for Asha by our awardwinning producer Jack. Upfront flavors of toasted grain
and caramel give way to a deep, chewy, tobaccostudded finish.

In this part of the world, full-flavored green puer tea is


not only drunk, but also frequently consumed as food.
One common dish is a cold assortment of pickled or
fried tea leaves with fresh ginger, spicy peppers, garlic,

This luxurious tea is comprised exclusively of tender,


unopened buds--a grade of tea historically reserved

The Assamica tea plant varietal can contain up to 33%


more caffeine than the Sinensis varietal, from which our
