JOB SUMMARY
Support the development and delivery of a high quality community delivery
programme within south and west Glasgow specifically and across Glasgow where
appropriate. This will involve good working relations with all relevant partners and
contacts within Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Community Partnership, Glasgow
Life and all relevant third sector organisations working within south and west
Glasgow.

MAIN DUTIES
Work closely with the Community Learning and Development Manager to
develop, promote and organise community classes in new areas and progress
existing community provision where appropriate, in line with College plans
Co-ordinate delivery of all community outreach classes ensuring all resources are
in place and all College systems and procedures adhered to
Assist in the running of the outreach Centres
Assists with recruitment of outreach staff as required
Assist in the preparation of funding applications to Glasgow City Council,
Community Planning Partnerships, Glasgow Life and other funding opportunities
as appropriate
Assist in the administration and monitoring of all community learning and
development programmes , in particular those receiving external funding
Prepare promotional material as required for outreach programmes

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate as a member of the unit team, offering constructive challenge, specialist


advice and the highest professional standards
Undertake projects as directed by the line manager
Proactively collaborate with internal and external partners
Keep abreast of current developments relevant to the department
Actively participate in on-going training and development activity and the
Personal Development Review process
Serve on College committees, as required
Respect the confidentiality of matters relating to other members of staff
Exercise a duty of care for their own health and safety and that of others who
may be affected by their actions
Promote and encourage Equality & Diversity in all aspects of Departmental
operations
Understand and comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act and the
Freedom of Information Act
Undertake other duties appropriate to the scope and grading of the post

Education with relevant field experience

Experience & Knowledge

Understanding of the further education sector

Experience of working in Community Education

Familiarity with Community Planning Partnership activity

Experience of engaging with students from excluded


backgrounds

Skills

Current clean driving licence
