Charge Description: That on or about April 16, 2015 in Robbinsdale, Hennepin County, Minnesota,
TANIAMARNIQUEHARRIS,assaultedaknownadultfemale,whilearmedwithadangerousweapon.

STATEMENTOFPROBABLECAUSE

Complainanthasinvestigatedthefactsandcircumstancesofthisoffenseandbelievesthefollowing
establishesprobablecause:
OnApril16,2015atabout5:55p.m.,Robbinsdalepoliceofficersweredispatchedtoanapartment
buildingat3755HubbardAvenueNorth,Robbinsdale,HennepinCounty,Minnesota,inresponsetoa
reportofafightinvolvingatleasttwowomen.Uponarrival,officersspoketopersonsoutsidethebuilding.
Inlaterinvestigation,officersdeterminedthattwoyoungwomen,oneofthemTANIAMARNIQUEHARRIS,
Defendantherein,andtheotheraknownadultfemale,Victimherein,hadbeenarguingforatleastaday.
OnApril16,Victimandacquaintancescametothesubjectaddress.Victimwasatthefrontdoorofthe
apartmentbuildingtalkingwithDefendantsmotherwhileVictimsacquaintancesremainedinacaratthe
curb.Whenofficersarrived,oneofthemspoketotheoccupantsofthecarandanotherwasatthefront
door.
Withoutwarning,Defendantburstthroughtheapartmentbuildingfrontdoor,chasingVictimatfullrun.
VictimsawDefendantcomingandwasseveralyardsinfrontofDefendant.AsVictimcamethroughthe
frontdoor,witnessessawalargeknifeinDefendantsrighthand.OnewitnessreportedhearingDefendant
scream:Imgoingtokillyoubitch!AsVictimrantogetbehindtheofficerstandingbythecar,two
additionalwitnessessawtheknifeinDefendantshand.Theofficerbythecarhaddrawnhisservicepistol
andorderedDefendanttostopanddroptheknifethiscommandwasoverheardbynearbywitnesses.
Defendantdidnotslowherpursuitnordroptheweapon.Theofficerbythecarfiredtwice,injuring
Defendant.NearwhereDefendantfell,officersrecoveredalargekitchenknife.Defendantwastakenfor
medicaltreatmentunderarrest.
Atthehospital,twowitnessesheardDefendantstatethatshewasshotbecauseshewaschasing
someonewithaknifeandthatshewaschasingsomeonebecauseshewasangry.
Defendantremainsincustody.
