DeterminingthefieldsfortheTMz(TransverseMagnetictothezdirection)modesfollowsa
similarproceduretothatfortheTEzcase.Tobegin,we'llstartbydiscussingthemagnetic
vectorpotential,A.Thisisanonphysicalquantitythatisofteninusedantennatheoryto
simplifythemathematicsofMaxwell'sEquations.
Tounderstandthemagneticvectorpotential,notethatsincethemagneticfluxdensityBmust
alwaysbedivergenceless:
