PIPING & WELDING INSPECTOR

Material inspection of Raw materials , prefabricated materials & Review of material certificates to
check compliance with project specifications and meeting the required mechanical /physical /chemical
composition values.

Check up of MTC'S of all received welding consumables at site to ensure that all welding
consumables, gases, flux, filler wires meet the code/specification requirement and are in good
condition prior to use.

Stage wise Inspection as per QC plan of fabrication: like Material Identification, Maintaining Material
trace ability, welder Qualification, Dimensional Checks, Fit up / Tolerance Checks and all other
activities concerning the Quality Control.

To identify and prepare Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) & PQR for jobs as per specifications
and verify Welders meet PQR requirements.

To monitor Welder performance and conduct visual inspection of welds and repairs accordance with
`company procedures and international codes of practice.

Ensure Calibration of welding machines and Ovens at regular intervals.

Establishing that welding procedures are available at shop floor, have been approved as required and
are being employed in welding production.

Conversant with International Codes like ASME section II, V, VIII, IX, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, API
1104,API 650, ISO 5817, API 5L etc

Conduction of Welders qualification tests as per AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104 and applicable
project specifications and verifying welder performance record.

10 To coordinate with clients to undertake procedure Qualification Test (PQT) and inspection test
specimen and witness destructive tests.
11 Welding inspection of various piping materials like duplex stainless steel, low temperature carbon
steel, stainless steel, internal coated piping using with coated sleeve pipe, which protects the
corrosion of weld area.
12 Preparation and maintenance of welding summary, statistics, weld repair analysis, test packages,
reports and documentation.
13 Identifying the root causes of the welding related problems and taking the corrective and preventive
action.
14 To conduct awareness training program on quality welds and NDT for welders.
15 Responsible for the marking and rectification of all weld repairs identified by visual and NDE proces

16 To observe and monitor the implementation of inspection and test plan with Regards to welding
related activities and NDT.
17 Witness of all NDT Process and reviewing NDT reports.

24 Preparation of Test Packs individual system wise, which includes material certificates, welding history
records, NDT reports, equipment & installation and alignment report, CP reports, compiling sub contractors documents, coating reports, hydro test reports, pneumatic test reports, pressure test
reports etc, and getting client's approval.
25 Submission of final reports and documents for QA/QC Dept for review and approval from clients.
