Southern Cross Group Services Lends Support to Our Big Kitchen

Among the various social and community initiatives in 2015, Southern Cross Group Services
(SCGS) has extended support to Our Big Kitchen.
Our Big Kitchen is a community run kitchen based in Sydney. Its volunteers prepare meals that
are distributed to needy people from all walks of life.
SCGS will be sponsoring Our Big Kitchen Gala Dinner 2015 to be held on March 2, 2015.
Southern Cross Group Services Announced as a Finalist in the EEAA 2014 Awards for Excellence

Southern Cross Group Services (SCGS) has been announced as a finalist in the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) 2014 Awards for
Excellence.
EEAA is the peak association for the exhibition and event industry in Australia and New Zealand, representing all aspects of the exhibition and event industry.
EEAA announced SCGS as a finalist in the Best Supplier Category for providing exceptional services in Security, Concierge, Customer Service and Car Park
Management throughout 2014 to the new Sydney Exhibition Centre at Glebe Island (SEC@GI).
The finalist nomination underpins SCGS' commitment to work collaboratively with SEC@GI Management to ensure a continuous improvement in security
strategy at each Exhibition and Event.
Southern Cross Successfully Completes the Second Class of its Leadership Excellence Program

Southern Cross Group Services (SCGS) is pleased to announce the completion of the
second class of its Leadership Excellence Program.
At the Leadership night, held at the NSW Business Chamber Parramatta, students of the
SCGS Leadership Excellence Program were awarded certificates on the successful
completion of the 12-week program.
David Borger, Western Sydney Director of the Sydney Business Chamber, graced the
occasion and delivered the introductory note congratulating the students and SCGS.
During the evening, students presented on various topics covering the latest in security
technology, customer service, event security, compliance, and the legislative provisions.

The Leadership night was also attended by Senior Management from SCGS clientele
companies.
"I firmly believe in providing opportunities for our staff to grow as professionals. The SCGS
Leadership Excellence Program enables our employees to take up the role and
responsibility of a leader guiding and mentoring their teams, "said Sam Johnson. "As a
growing organisation, Southern Cross needs to empower its future leaders to deliver
exceptional services to our customers," Sam further added.
"I am very proud of our students who took up the challenge to formally present diverse
topics on the night. Throughout the 12-week program, the students displayed great
commitment and tenacity in attending the classes and participating in workshops during their
own time, "said Stephen Butt CSM, SCGS National Training and Compliance Manager.
The Leadership Program, developed and driven by Stephen Butt, provides Southern Cross
a competitive edge in training and enabling their staff as the leaders of tomorrow. The
SCGS Leadership Excellence Program is open to all SCGS employees and guides students
through 16 leadership tasks including assignments and handouts for each task.

Johnson was nominated as the finalist 2014 NSW Business Chamber Awards Category as the
'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' in the Western Sydney Region.
The award recognises an inspirational young person who, through their own commitment and
passion, has built and operates a successful business. This award recognises young business
leaders who demonstrate outstanding entrepreneurial spirit, strategic direction and innovative ideas
whilst providing inspiration to a new generation of upcoming young business people.
SCGS' significant growth spearheaded by its strategic business vision, thoughtful investment in IT
and staff infrastructure, and establishment of strong client partnership are some of the factors that
enabled Sam to achieve his mark as a successful entrepreneur.

Lifestart Kayak for Kids 2013
Southern Cross Security has donated $1,000 towards the Lifestart Kayak for Kids
event on Sunday 24th of March 2013.
Lifestart, a registered charity, provides early childhood intervention and school age
services to children with additional needs, including Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum
Disorder, global developmental delay and rare genetic disorders.
Our team will participate in the event and will be paddling hard along Sydney Harbour
in support of this very worthy cause.
Cerebral Palsy Alliance - Charity Golf Day
Southern Cross Security attended a charity golf day on Monday 18 March 2013 in
support of children with Cerebral Palsy.
Great Security Work Leads to Arrests
Well done to Southern Cross Security Guards actively involved in the Police
apprehension of offenders at a Chatswood shopping centre. The diligence and
proactive approach by Southern Cross Security Guards assisted in the arrest of a
repeat offender wanted for stealing offences across the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
Yeshiva Dinner
Southern Cross Group Services is proud to sponsor the 2013 Yeshiva Centre Gala
Dinner and provide Security Services in support of this prestigious event.
