Students take a seat in front of the teacher


Body
Modified Cricket: Students will demonstrate hitting skills in a
cricket environment AND Students will demonstrate fielding skills
in a cricket environment AND Students will recognize practices
that contribute to teamwork
A. Create a 100 foot circle with cones or paint. Place a set of
wickets 5 feet in from the boundary of the circle and a large
pylon 5 feet in on the opposite side of the circle.
B. There will be two teams: a hitting team and a fielding team. The
fielding team will spread out throughout the circle and the
hitting team will line up outside the circle behind the wickets
C. The fielding team will have one pitcher and they will pitch
underhand with one bounce.
D. How to get out: if the ball is caught in the air without hitting the
ground, if the pitch hits the wickets, if the ball goes outside of
the circle on a hit without bouncing in the circle at least once, if
the cone or wicket that a runner is going to is knocked down the
runner is out.
E. How to score: if the ball is hit inbounds the hitter must run to
the pylon and back in order to score. They hitter can stay at the
pylon until another runner bumps them off
F. Each team will cycle through every player in the rotation before
switching
G. Give time for teams to meet and discuss strategies

Differentiation:
-Teacher can pitch if there is a lack of students OR just have students hit
one at a time and the rest field the ball

ASK students which activities they enjoyed and why and which
activities they didnt enjoy and why.
