Year 7 and 10 Annual Assessment

Instruction to students attempting the assessments / examinations.
1

It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that he / she:

a Arrives on time at the correct venue;
b Remains in the exam room for the specified time;
c Supplies all necessary equipment including writing paper. Written work may not be marked if written in pencil.
Diagrams are to drawing using a 2b pencil. Students are to bring their writing equipment into the assessment room in
a clear plastic sleeve or clear pencil case.
d Hands in all relevant material at the end of each exam;
e Ensures no material is carried into the examination / assessment room designed to provide an unfair advantage;
f Ensure mobile phones and other electronic devices are turned off and are located in a safe place not on the student.
g Understands the schools policy relating to illness and misadventure (stated below);
h Contact Ms Connors, Ms St. Louis or Mr. Long if claiming illness / misadventure BEFORE the assessment commences
and follows the school policy.
2 School uniform is to be worn during the assessment period.
3 Bags are to be located on the window sill in the corridor or on the stage if the hall is being used.
4 If a student misses an assessment / exam, they are to see the Head Teacher of the subject to negotiate a catch-up exam.
5 Plagiarism in assessment tasks and or cheating in examination will result in a zero mark for the assessment task.
6 Drink bottles are to be placed on the floor.
7 Lunch must not be eaten during the assessments.
8 Students are not to speak until all papers are collected. Students are to remain seated until all papers have been collected
and the supervisor dismisses them at the conclusion of the period.
9 Students are STRONGLY encouraged to use the toilets BEFORE the assessment / exam commences.
10 Students attend normal classes when exams are not scheduled. Please note any room changes on the assessment schedule
or day sheet.
Illness and misadventure:
If a student is sick, they are to see a medical doctor and obtain a medical certificate for the specific day the assessment is scheduled. The
medical certificate must have a diagnosis. Students are to see the Head Teacher of the assessment missed and negotiate an alternate
task. These tasks are attempted on the day the student returns.
