Categorizing disruptions:
The risks of disruptions aren't equal, nor are the consequences. To help companies empirically
assess their risks, Zurich teamed up with Manchester Business School of the UK to develop a
unique event database, which currently holds some 2,500 supply chain disruptions that occurred
around the world between 2000 and 2009. Four categories of disruptions were by far dominant:
Accidents fire, explosions, structural failures, hazardous spills;
Labor availability shortage of qualified staff, high-cost labor, labor unrest, strikes, slowdowns;

Recent challenge was SAP implementation for Unilever Pakistan and Bangladesh
when he led a team of over 100 people, bringing change in the entire processes
and operations. Led the big restructuring program, first of its kind, for this
company with 35% reduction of manpower through process simplification and
BPO. Designed 3 regional manufacturing excellence networks while working at
Unilever Asia business group at Singapore.
An experienced JIPM qualified TPM instructor, was part of the global network
and led the manufacturing excellence program at Unilever Pakistan improving
Productivity, Quality and Safety. TQM is one of his core strength and was trained
by Quest Australia. A trained quality auditor has audited and advised various
manufacturing installations in other countries.
In his early days has spent some time working with Exxon Pakistan and ARAMCO
Saudi Arabia as well.
