In consideration for KREMC giving a rebate (credit to bill) for the purchase and installation of an energy
efficient electric water heater, the undersigned residential (farm & home rate) member agrees to abide by all
the terms and conditions of this agreement.

1. Member agrees to purchase a new (purchased within six months of inspection date) 50 gallon or larger
electric water heater. Installation is the responsibility of the member, and it is also the responsibility of
the member to initiate the rebate procedure with KREMC. All repairs and service are the responsibility of
the member.

2. The unit must be installed on KREMC lines to be eligible for a rebate. KREMC will inspect the unit after
installation. A rebate credit will not be issued until inspection is complete. You must retain your
receipt for the water heater(s) for inspection purposes.

3. No water heater fueled by any source other than electricity is permitted in the home’s water heating
system. Member should consult with the KREMC energy advisor if there are compliance issues.

4. In exchange for the rebate credit the member will receive from KREMC, the member agrees to allow
KREMC to install a load management switch on the water heater at a future time, if warranted. Failure to
do so will result in the rebate being rescinded, and a charge for the rebate will be made on the next
billing statement. If a new water heater replaces one that had a load management switch installed on it,
member agrees to notify KREMC when the new water heater is installed so that the switch can be
transferred to the new water heater.
