Matthew’s Gospel omissions
Matthew’s Gospel is clearly one of the most
recognizable tellings of Jesus’ life on earth, yet some
elements of what we know of Jesus’ story are notably
absent from Matthew’s telling:

• Prologue telling about John the Baptist’s birth

• Boy Jesus in the temple
• Healing a demoniac in the Synagogue
• Jesus rejected by Samaritans (Luke 9)
• “Father forgive them, for they know not what they
do…”
• Etc.

What do you think the omissions in Matthew tell us

about the content of the Gospel?
Please don’t throw this away. If you’re not going to use it, leave it for
