XenServerv6.1hasannounc ednativesupportforLACP.Itisrec ommendedtoupgradetov6.1in
ordertogainproperandsupporteduseofLACPNICbonding.

Thebelowinformationwasbasedonuser/c ommunityfeedbac k,andmaynotbeappropriateforyour

partic ularenvironment.
ThedefaultbondingmodeforCitrixXenServer5.5/5.6is"1",orac tivebac kup(slb).Thismodeonly
providesfaulttoleranc e,sinc eonlyoneNICinthebondisac tiveatatime.Formoreheavilyutilized
produc tionsystems,anac tiveac tivec onfigurationispreferable.Thetwobondingmodesthat
providefullsend/rec eivebalanc ingac rossallNICsare4(802.3ad)and6(alb).Mode4provideslink
aggregationac c ordingtothe802.3adspec ific ation,andrequiresanetherc hanneltobec onfiguredon
theswitc h.
