Nu Flow Licensee Rehabilitates Facilitys Sewer System

Carolina Pipe Repair, LCC., a Nu Flow Licensee throughout North and South Carolina was given the opportunity to
work on its biggest project to date. The Rebound Mental Health facility wanted a non-intrusive way to rehabilitate their
sewer system so both staff and patients wouldnt be affected. Carolina Pipe Repair used Nu Drain CIPP renewal to
ensure there was no disruption.
Customer: Rebound Mental Health is an adult
inpatient psychiatric and substance abuse
treatment facility nestled in a peaceful wooded
estate between Charlotte, NC and Lancaster,
SC. They offer short-term mental health
and substance abuse recovery in a private,
confidential treatment center.
Site: Originally built in 1988, the facility had
sat vacant for approximately 10 years prior
to being purchased by Rebound Mental
Health in 2012. The facility sits on a 37-Acre
campus and has three buildings, the largest
being the patient housing and dining center.
The campus is serviced by municipal water
however the property is self sufficient with
on-site wastewater and sewer treatment.
System: The existing sewer pipes were all
cast-iron and included 4 diameter and 6
diameter pipes. The entire sewer system runs
under the slab of the main floor of the building.
Total estimated length of under slab sewer pipe
is 700 that includes a commercial kitchen with
grease trap that returns back into the building to
the main building drain.

We would not have bid the job if we did not

have the support of Nu Flow. The customer was
extremely happy that they could increase their
patient capacity.
- Chris Hobel, Owner, Carolina Pipe LLC

Problem: Upon purchase the main patient building was retrofitted with all new plumbing and fixtures above slab only.
Following the opening of the facility in January of 2014, the original cast-iron under the slab quickly began to corrode
and deteriorate under the sudden usage. The situation resulted in constant sewer back-ups. After having to come out
each week to jet the pipes, the original plumbing contractor purposed to temporary close the facility for over a month
to allow all the floors to be dug up and have all new sewer pipes installed. The original contractor who managed the
building sought out a better and less intrusive solution, which is when they contacted Carolina Pipe Repair, LLC.
Solution: Carolina Pipe Repair purposed to install Nu Drain liners manufactured by Nu Flow Technologies in all the
4 and 6 building drains. Carolina Pipe Repair along with its team of dedicated plumbers carefully went to work on
rehabilitating the facilities sewer system without alerting staff or patients to the vast undertaking happening under their
feet. Several days were spent removing the years of corrosion and buildup throughout the main lines. In total, over
500 feet of sewer pipe was relined which consisted of five individual runs of 4 and 120 feet of a 6 building drain. This
also consisted of relining the pipes for the commercial kitchen while providing solutions that permitted the continual 15
hour a day seven days a week operation of the kitchen.
About Carolina Pipe Repair, LLC: Carolina Pipe Repair, LLC is a Veteran owned small business that was created
in 2010 with the sole purpose of providing cured in place pipe relining solutions. Prior to the companys formation, the
