Stomach 1
Chengqi
Yang Qiao Mai Point, Entry Point
L: With the eyes looking straight forward, directly inferior to the center of the pupil, between the eyeball
and the infraorbital ridge.
I: Redness, swelling and pain of the eye, glaucoma, myopia, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, cataract, retinitis,
abnormal lacrimation, night blindness, deviation of the eye and mouth, twitching of eyelids, facial
paralysis.
A: Expels wind, benefits the eyes, clears heat, and stops lacrimation.
M: Ask the patient to look down. Push the eyeball upward with the thumb and slowly puncture
perpendicular 0.5-1.0 inch along the infraorbital ridge. It is not advisable to manipulate the needle with
large amplitude. Firm pressure over the puncture site with cotton for at least 2 minutes after removal is
recommended to prevent a hematoma. Moxibustion not indicated.
N: Optic nerve.
C: Eyeball.
Stomach 2
Sibai
Yang Qiao Mai Point
L: With With the eyes looking straight forward, directly inferior to the center of the pupil, in the depression
at the infraorbital foramen.
I: Redness, pain and itching of the eye, facial paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, sinusitis, exophthalmia,
twitching of eye lids, sinusitis, sinus headache, pain in the face.
A: Expels wind, benefits the eyes, benefits the nose, clears heat, moves Liver Qi, and relieves pain.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.2-0.3 inch. Firm pressure over the puncture site with cotton for at least 2
minutes after removal is recommended to prevent a hematoma. Moxibustion not indicated.
N: Infraorbital nerve.
C: Infraorbital artery and vein.

Juliao
Yang Qiao Mai Point
L: With the eyes looking straight forward, directly inferior to the center of the pupil, at the level of the
lower border of ala nasi, on the lateral side of the nasolabial groove.
I: Facial paralysis, twitching of eyelids, epistaxis, nasal congestion, toothache, swelling of lips and cheek,
facial pain, pain in the nose, lip pain.
A: Expels wind, relieves swelling, removes obstructions, and relieves pain.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.3-0.5 inch or subcutaneous 0.5-1.2 inch toward ST 4.
N: Branches of the facial and infraorbital nerves.
Stomach 4
Dicang
Yang Qiao Mai Point
L: With the eyes looking straight forward, directly inferior to the center of the pupil, just lateral to the
corner of the mouth on the nasolabial groove. In the case of a wider set mouth, the point is located 0.4
cun lateral to the corner of the mouth on the nasolabial groove.
I: Deviation of the mouth, excess salivation, twitching of eyelids, aphasia, toothache, trigeminal neuralgia,
numbness and pain of the lips and cheeks, eating disorders.
A: Expels wind, removes obstructions, benefits tendons and muscles, and moves stagnation.
M: Puncture subcutaneously 1.0-1.5 inch with toward ST 6 or CV 24 or LI 20.
N: Branches of the facial, infraorbital, and buccal nerves.
C: Facial artery and vein.

Daying
L: Anterior to the angle of mandible, on the anterior border of the masseter muscle.
I: Facial paralysis, swelling of the cheek, pain in the face, pain in the jaw, lock jaw, aphasia, toothache,

A: Expels wind, and relieves swelling.
M: Puncture oblique 0.3-0.5 inch or subcutaneous 1.0-1.5 inch toward St 4 or St 6.
N: The facial and buccal nerves.
C: Facial artery and vein.
Stomach 6
Jiache
Ghost Point
L: One finger-breadth anterior and superior to the lower angle of the mandible where the masseter
muscle attaches. At the highest point of the muscle when the teeth are clenched.
I: Facial paralysis, toothache, swelling of the cheek and face, mumps, bruxism, lock jaw, mastication
dissorders.
A: Expels wind, removes obstructions, relieves pain, benefits the teeth and jaw, and regulates Qi.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.3-0.5 inch, or subcutaneously 1.0-1.5 inch toward St 4 or St 5, or St 7.
N: Facial nerve and masseteric nerve.
Stomach 7
Xiaguan
L: At the lower border of the zygomatic arch, in the depression anterior to the condyloid process of the
mandible. This point is best located with the mouth closed.
I: Deafness, tinnitus, otorrhea, otitis, ear ache, toothache, facial paralysis, trigeminal neuralgia, Bells
palsy, deviation of the eye and mouth, lock jaw, bruxism, pain of the face, motor impairment of the jaw.
A: Benefits the ears, removes obstructions, and expels wind.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.3-0.5 inch or oblique 0.5-1.0 inch inferiorly or subcutaneous 1.0-1.5 inch
toward Si 18 or Si 19 or ST 6.
N: Branch of the facial nerve.
C: Transverse facial artery and vein.

Touwei
Yang Wei Mai Point
L: 0.5 cun within the anterior hairline at the corner of the forehead, 4.5 cun lateral to the anterior midline
(GV 24).
I: Headache (frontal), dizziness, fogginess of thoughts, heaviness of the head, blurring of vision,
ophthalmalgia, abnormal lacrimation.
A: Expels wind, relieves pain, benefits the eyes, relieves dizziness, and clears heat.
M: Puncture subcutaneous 0.5-1.0 inch. Moxibustion not indicated.
N: Branches of the auriculotemporal nerve and facial nerves.
Stomach 9
Renying
Window of the Sky Point, Four Sea Point of Qi
L: On the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, level with the tip of the laryngeal
prominence, just on the course of the common carotid artery.
I: Sore throat, cough, asthma, wheezing, fullness in the chest, goiter, lymphadenopathy, dizziness,
flushing of the face, headache, dizziness, hiccup, nausea, vomiting, hypertension, hypotension.
A: Regulates Qi and blood, dissipates masses, benefits the throat, relieves swelling, relieves pain, clears
heat, calms dyspnea, subdues rebellious Qi, and regulates ascending and descending of Qi.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.5-1.0 inch. Moxibustion not indicated.
N: Sympathetic trunk, vagus nerve, and a branch of the hypoglossal nerve.
C: Internal and external carotid artery, or common carotid artery.

muscle.
I: Sore throat, cough, asthma, whooping cough, goiter, lymphadenopathy.
A: Descends Lung Qi, and benefits the throat.
M: Puncture perpendicular-oblique 0.5-1.0 inch medially.
N: Sympathetic trunk
C: Common carotid artery.
Stomach 11
Qishe
L: At the superior border of the sternal extremity of the clavicle, between the sternal and clavicular heads
of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
I: Sore throat, neck pain, neck rigidity, cough, asthma, dyspnea, hiccup, goiter, lymphadenopathy.
A: Benefits the throat, and descends Qi.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.3-0.5 inch.
N: Vagus and phrenic nerves.
C: Lung (pneumothorax risk).
Anterior jugular vein, common carotid artery, and subclavian artery and vein.
Stomach 12
Quepen
L: In the midpoint of the supraclavicular fossa, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
I: Cough, asthma, shortness of breath, hemoptysis, fullness in the chest, sore throat, anxiety, insomnia,
insufficient lactation, pain in the supraclavicular fossa, pain in the shoulder.
A: Subdues rebellious Qi, disperses and descends Lung Qi, clears heat (from chest), regulates Qi and
Blood, promotes lactation, and removes obstructions.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.3-0.5 inch or oblique 0.3-0.5 inch.
N: The supraclavicular portion of the brachial plexus.
C: Lung (pneumothorax risk). Subclavian artery and vein.

Qihu
L: At the midpoint of the inferior border of the clavicle, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline, directly inferior
to St 12.
I: Fullness in the chest, cough, asthma, hiccup, hematemesis, chest pain, hypochondriac pain.
A: Clears heat, subdues rebellious Qi, and opens the chest.
M: Puncture subcutaneous-oblique 0.5-0.8 inch along the inferior border of the clavicle.
N: Branches of the supraclavicular nerve and the anterior thoracic nerve.
C: Lung (pneumothorax risk). Subclavian artery and vein.

Kufang
L: In the first intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline (CV 20).
I: Fullness in the chest, chest pain, cough, dyspnea, hemoptysis.
A: Subdues rebellious Qi, and opens the chest.
M: Puncture subcutaneous-oblique 0.5-0.8 inch along the intercostal space or subcutaneous with or
against the channel.
N: Branch of the anterior thoracic nerve.

Wuyi
L: In the second intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline (CV 19).
I: Fullness in the chest, chest pain, pain in the costal region, cough, asthma, dyspnea, hemoptysis,
mastitis, breast abscess, generalized itching.
A: Subdues rebellious Qi, opens the chest, benefits the breasts, relieves pain, and relieves itching.
M: Puncture subcutaneous-oblique 0.5-0.8 inch along the intercoastal space or subcutaneous with or
against the channel.

Yingchuang

I: Fullness in the chest, chest pain, hypochondriac pain, cough, asthma, whezzing, dyspnea, mastitis,
breast abscess, insufficient lactation.
A: Relieves coughing, stops wheezing, relieves pain, relieves swelling, and promotes lactation.
M: Puncture subcutaneous-oblique 0.5-0.8 inch along the intercoastal space or subcutaneous with or
against the channel.
N: Branch of the anterior thoracic nerve.
C: Lung (pneumothorax risk).
Stomach 17
Ruzhong
L: In the fourth intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline (CV 17), in the centre of the nipple.
Acupuncture and moxibustion on this point are contraindicated. This point serves only as a
landmark for locating points on the chest and abdomen.

Rugen
L: In the fifth intercostal space, directly inferior to the nipple, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
I: Chest pain, cough, asthma, wheezing, dyspnea, mastitis, breast abscess, breast distention, breast
tenderness, insufficient lactation, dysphagia.
A: Benefits the breasts, promotes lactation, moves stagnation, relieves swelling, opens the chest,
relieves coughing, and stops wheezing.
M: Puncture subcutaneous-oblique 0.5-1.0 inch along the intercoastal space or subcutaneous with or

asthma, wheezing, dyspnea, cardiac pain.
A: Harmonizes the middle burner, subdues rebellious Qi, relieves coughing, and stops wheezing.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.5-0.8 inch or subcutaneous 0.5-1.2 inch along the costal margin.
N: Branch of the seventh intercostal nerve.
C: Heart and/or Liver (in cardiomegaly and/or hepatomegaly).

Chengman
L: 5 cun superior to the umbilicus, and 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline (CV 13). This point may be
located on the costal margin in some individuals.
I: Epigastric pain, abdominal distension, hiccups, vomiting, hematemesis, poor appetite, borborygmus,
diarrhea, cough, asthma, wheezing, dyspnea.
A: Harmonizes the middle burner, and subdues rebellious Qi.
M: Puncture perpendicular 0.5-1.0 inch.
N: Branch of the seventh intercostal nerve.
C: Liver (in hepatomegaly), and the peritoneal cavity in thinner patients.

Liangmen
L: 4 cun superior to the umbilicus, and 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline (CV 12). This point may be
located on the costal margin in some individuals.
I: Epigastric pain, indigestion, vomiting, poor appetite, borborygmus, abdominal distension, diarrhea.
A: Moves Stomach Qi, harmonizes the middle burner, moves stagnation, tonifies the Spleen, relieves
pain, clears heat, raises Qi, and stops diarrhea.

I: Pain in the thigh, muscular atrophy, motor impairment, numbness and pain of the lower extremities,
arthritis (hip and knee), stiff knee joint, hernia, lymphadenopathy.
A: Removes obstructions, relieves pain, expels wind-damp, and dissipates cold.

lower extremities, arthritis (hip and knee), urticaria.
A: Removes obstructions, expels wind-damp, expels wind-heat, relieves pain, warms the channels, and
dissipates cold.

A: Harmonizes the Stomach and Large Intestine, moves stagnation, stops diarrhea, regulates Qi,
