PREFACIO
La obra del Dr. Jean Pilette que tienen entre las manos
constituye una de las mejores sntesis realizadas hoy en da
sobre el estado de los conocimientos cientficos en materia de
riesgos electromagnticos relacionados con las tecnologas
denominadas sin hilos, de las que estamos cada da un
poco ms rodeados.
Interpelado en su da a da de trabajo como mdico
generalista , observando a sus pacientes, el Dr. Jean Pilette
ha buscado y comprendido los daos de las microondas
utilizadas por las tecnologas inalmbricas. Gracias a un
anlisis profundo de los estudios publicados en las revistas
cientficas, ms de 600 publicaciones referenciadas, aporta
nuevas luces sobre estos daos.
En un estilo claro, preciso y accesible, destinado tanto
al profano como al profesional de la salud, este libro aborda
de una manera cierta la cuestin universal del conocimiento.
Cmo juzgar todo esto?
Cmo formarse una opinin, asaltados por tantas
informaciones a veces contradictorias?
Cmo no caer en la trampa de la ausencia de
consenso cientfico, puerta abierta a todos los inmovilismos,
los inmovilismos que ocasionaron y continan ocasionando

complementarias no es equvoco? No se intenta con este
argumento, retrasar lo mximo posible la toma de decisiones
"dolorosas" y mantener el statu quo? La resea histrica del
problema de los riesgos del amianto y las maniobras de la
industria, durante aos, para desprestigiar los resultados de
los estudios que le eran desfavorables en este asunto son
particularmente esclarecedoras.
Hay pocos campos donde ms investigaciones no
sean necesarias y los lmites de nuestros conocimientos no
deban ser ampliados sin cesar los descubrimientos de la
complejidad del funcionamiento de los seres vivos y de su
medio ambiente. Es aqu dnde principio de precaucin toma
todo su sentido, en particular cuando ciertos indicios
atestiguan la existencia potencial de riesgos mayores.
Es por otra parte normal que se hayan encargado
tan pocos estudios epidemiolgicos relacionados con los
daos de las estaciones base de telefona mvil sobre los
seres vivos (plantas, animales, hombres) mientras que la
inmensa mayora de los estudios mdicos ya publicados en
revistas cientficas apunten hacia daos sanitarios?.
Es aceptable que la Organizacin Mundial de la
Salud no pueda aportar respuesta a estas cuestiones pero
que contine emitiendo opiniones oficiales "tranquilizadoras"?
Estas opiniones confrontan con la realidad de los resultados
publicados por numerosas publicaciones cientficas, incluido
las publicadas en sus propias base de datos on-line, base de

Este documento ANTENAS DE TELEFONA MVIL,
TECNOLOGAS SIN HILOS Y SALUD trata esencialmente
sobre los daos de las microondas utilizados por la telefona
mvil y por las tecnologas inalmbricas.
Es preciso poner al tanto al lector de estos daos,
permitirle evitarlos en numerosos casos y ayudarle a
protegerse de ellos lo mejor posible cuando no pueda
evitarlos.
Los captulos de este documento siguen un orden
lgico pero el lector puede decidir libremente leer slo los
captulos que le interesen.

Qu es una onda?
Cuando una piedra es lanzada al agua de un estanque en
calma, provoca crculos concntricos. El choque de la piedra
contra la superficie del agua provoca lo que se denomina una
onda de choque caracterizada por crculos concntricos que
se propagan en la superficie del agua, alejndose del punto
de impacto.
Si, un da de fuerte oleaje, miramos los barcos atracados en
el muelle de un puerto de mar, les vemos oscilar. La ola es
una onda que se propaga en las capas superficiales del agua,
formando crestas y hoyos. Los barcos suben y bajan
peridicamente por encima de la lnea horizontal del muelle.
En un momento dado ciertos barcos estn en la cresta de la
hola y otros en el fondo y otros, en posicin intermedia. La
distancia que separa los barcos situados en las crestas de las
olas , de otros situados en el fondo contiguo, es la longitud de
onda de la ola. El nmero de veces por unidad de tiempo que
una barca va a estar elevada en la cresta es la frecuencia de
la hola.
Nosotros mismos, como todos los seres vivos, producimos
cantidad de ondas. Para respirar, por ejemplo, creamos una

Las microondas
Es con el uso de los radares, en particular por los militares
a lo largo de la segunda guerra mundial, cuando las
microondas artificiales verdaderamente han hecho su
aparicin.
La telefona mvil es el sector generador de microondas
mas conocido actualmente.
El sistema GSM de la telefona mvil utiliza microondas en
la banda de los 900 Mhz, es decir ondas que vibran 900
millones de veces por segundo.
El sistema DCS de la telefona mvil utiliza microondas en
la banda de frecuencias de los 1.800 Mhz, es decir ondas
que vibran 1.800 veces por segundo.
El sistema DECT de los telfonos inalmbricos conectados
a la lnea fija de telfono ha utilizado hasta el presente las
ondas en la banda de frecuencias de los 1.800 Mhz. Una
nueva generacin de telfonos DECT ve ahora la luz,
funciona con frecuencias de 5.8 GHz, es decir ondas que
vibran 5.8 mil millones de veces por segundo.

antena eran ms bajos que las normas en vigor en esta
regin.
Los tests cognitivos mostraron alteraciones significativas en el
grupo expuesto a la antena con respecto al grupo de control

El doctor Neil Cherry de Nueva Zelanda present el 29 de
junio del 2000, en el coloquio organizado por el grupo de los
Verdes en el Parlamento europeo, un informe sobre las
microondas, que ha sido puesto al da en el 2002. Para l,
toda sustancia que causa una alteracin de los cromosomas o
de la molcula del ADN, o que provoca modificaciones de la
actividad gentica de la clula es genotxica, y una sustancia
genotxica genera mutaciones, malformaciones y cnceres.
La accin de las microondas sobre los cromosomas, sobre la
molcula del ADN, los iones de calcio, sobre las sustancias

El ICNIRP se basa en las diferentes publicaciones de la
IRPA/OMS/UNEP de 1984, 1987, 1993 as como las de un
experto britnico, S. Allen, para redactar sus Guas prcticas.
Estas guas, aparecidas en junio de 1998, proponen
recomendaciones
de
exposicin
a
los
campos
electromagnticos. Como ya habamos visto, esas normas no
tienen en cuenta nada ms que los efectos trmicos de las
microondas 174.
Los efectos de los campos electromagnticos sobre la salud
del ser humano expuestos en esas recomendaciones han
sido confirmados en junio de 1999 por el Scientific Steering
Comit (Comit para el manejo cientfico), el SSC.
En marzo de 2001 el Parlamento Europeo publica un
documento sobre los efectos psicolgicos y medioambientales
de las radiaciones no ionizantes 590.
Ese documento ha sido realizado por miembros de la
Universidad de Warwick en Gran Bretaa y por el profesor
Hyland del Instituto Internacional de Biofsica de Alemania.
Ese documento pone el punto sobre los conocimientos de la
poca sobre las radiaciones electromagnticas, a saber:

El TELEFONO DECT
El telfono DECT est constituido de una estacin base para
la recarga y de uno o varios terminales. En cuanto la estacin
se conecta, comienza a emitir microondas. Si se deja
conectada, emitir da y noche. Veamos los valores de
densidad de potencia medidos en diferentes telfonos DECT
en distintas habitaciones:
Primer ejemplo:
A 25 cm de la estacin: 2.380 microWatts / m2
A 200 cm de la estacin en la misma habitacin: 1.510
microWatts / m2
Segundo ejemplo:
A 25 cm de la estacin: 1.270 microWatts / m2
A 400 cm de la estacin en una habitacin contigua: 27,380
