Discussion

In forced heat convection, transfer of heat is due to movement in the

fluid which results from many other forces, such as for example a fan or
pump. A convection oven thus works by forced convection, as a fan which
rapidly circulates hot air forces heat into food faster than would naturally
happen due to simple heating without the fan. Aerodynamic heating is a form
of forced convection. Common fluid heat-radiator systems, and also heating
and cooling of parts of the body by blood circulation, are other familiar
examples of forced convection. From the graph and the data shown, finned
plate have a low heater temperature that are 69.0, 56.0 and 51.9 than the
pinned temperature that are 72.0, 58.2 and 52.3. From the data also we
can see that the surface temperature for this two sample is decreased while
the air velocity is increased. The surface temperature for the pinned plate;
47.0, 33.2, 27.3, are higher than the finned plate; 44.0, 31.0, 26.9. It
seems that the finned plate can release the heat more than the pinned plate.
That is because finned plate have a high surface temperature than the
pinned plate.
From the data also, the convection heat transfer coefficient (h) for this two
sample is increased due to the increased the air velocity. The area of this two
sample is important because like the finned plate, the heat transfer for this
plate; 84.99W/m.C, 120.63 W/m.C, 139.03 W/m/C, is low than the pinned
plate; 166.03W/m/C, 235.04W/m.C, 285.84W/mC. It is because the
surface area for the pinned plate; 0.0346m is small than the finned plate;
0.0722m that has a big area. Because of that the transfer heat for pinned
plate is higher than the finned plate.

For this experiment, we have detected the errors that can affect the data
that we got. The error that we detect was the pinned and finned plate didnt
cooled by the air velocity but may cooled by the air condition in the lab. It is
because lab temperature in the lab is below the room tmeperature that is
less than 26. The other error is, when we want to take data like data for the
temperature, the value of the data is not so constant and because of that it
can affect the result of the experiment.

CONCLUSIONS
The conclusion for this experiment is we can see that the finned plate is
more easily transfer heat than the pinned because of the area of that two
samples. The finned has the larger area from the pinned and because of that
the pinned plate easily to reduce the temperature than the finned plate.
From the graph also we can conclude that the increasing air velocity will
reduce the temperature from the surface area. Because of that the graph is
reduce from starting until the end of the experiment. The error from the
experiment can be reduce if this experiment do not do in a room that has no
air condition. Thus, the data will be more accurate.
